  1. Yep, twice as much fun the second time around. ~Happy Birthday~
  2. ~Happy Birthday Gents~
  3. Spent a great day with my 3 yr old grand son yesterday. He spent the night and we had a blast. Today helped move furniture from my mother-in-law's condo, which she sold, to my daughter's apartment. One down sizing and the other just getting started. Don't mind admitting I'm sore and tired now. Just received an email from one of my sisters who is insisting that we spend 70% more than the amount the siblings agreed to spend for my mother's 80th birthday celebration. Apparently she doesn't understand what a budget is. Now to figure out how to respond in such a way that I keep peace in the family but maintain common sense. Think I'll put my response off until tomorrow. Famous Grouse followed by Founders "Dirty Bastard". Now to relax
  4. I'm sorry for your loss Ken. RIP Gary. May you, his friends and family find peace.
  5. My uncle who is about 12 years older than me was baby sitting when I was about 4 or 5. I was always big for my age. An 8 or 9 yr old neighbor hid came over and started hitting me. I went crying to my uncle who let me know in no uncertain terms that I either went and beat the crap out of this kid or he would beat the the shit out of me. I hunted that kid down and broke his fucking nose. That kid wouldn't come near me again. Since then I have learned to walk away from confrontation, but I've never backed down. This almost caused me serious pain as an adult. I had just started working where I am now and this guy just totally lost it on the phone, threatening to come beat the piss out of me. I told him that he was welcome to come meet me but that when he did he may not want to settle things like he thought. It was a Roy D Mercer moment if I ever heard one. Sure enough, he showed the next day. Now I was alot smaller than I am now but I was still a big guy. He tried to intimidate me and finally decided we should just talk. After he left I googled the ass hole and found that he had recently been released from prison for killing a man with one punch at a local gym a few years ago. Glad it didn't come to a physical test. Who the hell knows how that would have ended?
  6. Jacob, sounds like a great interview. Now for the job offer! The second interview is good news Bryan. Keep on keeping on Just as I left the office I insured a collection of every Beatles lp that has ever been released. Some I had never heard of before, and I grew up listening to them. Then his wife bitched about his albums and we just insured a $21000 diamond ring for her. Guess it was okay for her to get but not him to have.
  7. I have no doubt you will shine and be the obvious choice compared to the other candidates. A little competition to help bring out your best
  8. ~Happy Birthday~
  9. You had a birthday Larry? Belated ~Happy Birthday~!
  10. I don't know about "best", but I recently chose the s95 as best for my needs. Small and easy to take with (read put in a pocket) and takes nice pics. Not familiar with the S8100 as that is not one I looked at.
  11. I've sat in the jury pool three times, been excused twice. Apparently sounding decisive does not help in getting me selected (so one attorney told me on the way out of the court house). Saw Richard Thomas in 12 Angry Men on stage. Surprisingly good performance.
  12. Good luck Jacob!
  13. John, that was brilliant .
  14. ~Happy Birthday~ Enjoy!
  15. As you might imagine we had alot to begin discussing last night. Wow, did I miss alot. Driftwood, I'm sorry for your loss. You may never get your mind around what happened, and that's okay. Mike, wishing your 2nd mom the best. Thanks to everyone for your support. It's appreciated. Dinny, that needed to be said. Glad you did
  16. Always saddest when the little ones leave us. Sorry to hear that Nate. Must have been quite the fighter to persevere like he did.
  17. My wife, a 20 year school teacher, just got pink slipped. First time for us. The district pink slipped all teachers of electives, or 43% of all teachers. Though tenured with substantial seniority, she won't meet the requirements for teaching core classes, meaning that she is effectively unemployed at the end of the school year. Unless this is a political ploy and some electives are restored, she'll be job hunting. At her income level she is not likely to find employment as an educator here in Michigan. Not a complete surprise but not pleasant either
  18. Sorry to hear that Larry. Double hurt ... pain and pain in the wallet.
  19. Good stuff Bryan! My newest son-in-law could learn something from you.
  20. You're not alone Steve. I do this most nights.
  21. ^^^true dat
  22. Drink enough beer and you won't care what the music sounds like.
  23. Finally filed my tax returns.
