  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. Happy Birthday! Hope it was a good one.
  3. That's good to know. I'll have to talk with JH Audio further about that, they may have some insight as to causes and if it's a possibility for me. So the next thing I need to figure out is where these would fall in terms of sonics, even with all the glowing posts I haven't quite got a handle on them. Right now I feel like I've got two very good upper mid-level options with the Null Audio cabled Triple.Fi's and flat padded HF-2's. The HF-2's I love because they seem to get the tone more correct than other phones I've tried. With the flat pads they have a nice amount of bass and punch but the treble seems a bit too set back. The recabled Triple.Fi's on the other hand are probably close to if not the most balanced phones I've heard, they have a nice clean treble presence without smearing or sibilance issues. Overall everything integrates very well but while the recable does a nice job of balancing them it doesn't solve their being somewhat on the dry side. So while I'm quite enamored with both my phones I recognize that both have flaws and I also recognize that by selling both to buy one I could up the ante sonically, I think the only way I could go with one phone would be an IEM of some sort as I value the isolation IEM's provide more so than the larger soundstage open phones provide. I'm guess I'm just not quite convinced yet that overall the JH13's would give me what I'm looking for. From what I've read and what I can discern from current users is they tick a lot of the boxes for my preferences, my biggest worry is they won't provide the overall bass weight and impact I tend to prefer and I wonder how they compare directly to what I have now.
  4. A belated Happy Birthday!
  5. Happy Birthday Peter, hope you have a great day!
  6. I must admit I've been going down the path of debating the JH13's myself. I'd have to sell off my Triple.Fi's and HF-2's to even think about affording them though. Aside from being in Canada and in a location where I'm rather wary of the experience the audiologists would have with this sort of thing I'm rather concerned about the sensitivity I have to most non-foam based tips. It would really suck to spend that much only to find I can't use them for longer than a few minutes because they make my ear canals itch.
  7. Happy Birthday, hope you have a great day!
  8. Thanks everyone, unfortunately I've had a flu so was feeling quite under the weather yesterday. The kids and my wife were good to me though so I can't complain.
  9. This thread is driving me mad...
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. There's just something very "right" about the sound of the HF-2's, sure they're not perfect but they reproduce the tone of instruments better than anything I've owned previously and getting that right is a huge plus.

    True Blood

    lol
  14. Iron and Wine sounds sublime.
  15. Happy Birthday!
  16. I must admit I'm rather interested in these as an alternative to the triple fi's at work. Sometimes there's nothing better than IEM's to just block out the world but other times I end up not listening to music because of the hassle of getting them on. I go back and forth on this all the time but I've yet to find a closed phone to replace the iem's for use at work and I still haven't found anything reasonably priced to work in conjunction with them either. Then there's that damn JH13 thread...
  17. The Touch's screen size is 480 x 320 not 360. Sorry the size comment was more me just thinking out loud, the size overall is probably fine just a bit awkward to design for. Not nearly as horrendous as some mobile screens though, seriously, 128 x220, how the hell do you do anything with something like that.
  18. 480 x 272, that strikes me as being a rather shitty screen size to deal with.

    Grado GR8 IEM

Grado by Logitech... or Monster Cable Grado RS-1's. I don't know, I just don't see it, the company seems a bit too niche to be bought out by one of the big guns.
  20. Have a great day!
  21. If you play any games on the iPhone you should check out Big Top 10, Kill All Bugs! and Puzzlings. They're all very different games but from the same company.
  22. Just watched episode 13, now I'm even more intrigued to see where they take the show next season.
  23. I had a chance to briefly try Biggies via my Pico here at work on Friday. My initial impression was "great I'm going to save myself some money because these suck balls", then I realized they had bowls. With flats my impression was "damnit, there goes a couple hundred bucks". I didn't get to do a side by side with the MS2i's but my impression was that they are cut from the same cloth with the HF-2's being less dry, nicer tonality with punchier, better defined bass. Treble seemed somewhat similar with little to no sibilance issues yet maintaining a nice level that is present yet doesn't intrude or sound at all harsh. When I got home and listened to the MS2i's again with some of the same tracks it seemed like the gap was a bit wider than I initially thought, bass seemed muddier, less defined, mids drier and less involving than I expected, the overall presentation seemed a bit hazier than my recollection of the HF-2's. Again, this wasn't a side by side comparison so probably not worth squat as far as validity goes but for me at least I got the distinct impression the HF-2's solve what little gripes I had with the MS2i's but also seems to up the ante a notch as well.
  24. That's what I was trying to get at, a few years ago I think the market would have been large enough for it to make a go, now, I'm sure there's still a market for it I'm just not sure how big it is anymore.
