  1. Isis - Wavering Radiant
  2. I managed to get an earlier appointment for my impressions, had them done yesterday, sent them out today. Now for the wait.
  3. Sorry, meant to reply to this earlier, I don't have much in these genres with female vocals, you could try what I'm listening to now: Black Math Horseman - Wyllt
  4. Bohren & der Club of Gore - Black Earth
  5. Dadawa - Sister Drum This has been one of my staples for testing gear ever since the owner of Swan's Speakers introduced me to it in the early to mid 90's. I typically use it to test for dynamics, massed vocals and instrumentation as well as bass, plus it's just some really good music.
  6. Elbow - Asleep In The Back
  7. If you liked Pelican I'd also recommend Russian Circles, My Sleeping Karma, Red Sparowes, Wiht, TotorRo, Sleep and Zebulon Pike for mainly instrumental stuff. I don't tend to like growling vocals much myself so you might like Shrinebuilder, Gomer Pyle, WhiteBuzz, or Ancestors. That's kind of a varied list as it takes in a bit of stoner, doom and sludge.
  8. X2
  9. Black Math Horseman - Wyllt
  10. David Sylvian - Secrets of the Beehive
  11. Mogwai - The Hawk Is Howling
  12. Got a reply from Brittany. Ordered! On a side note, $75 shipping to Canada!!
  13. Tried calling but just got the answering machine, I sent Brittany an email but if I don't get a reply I'll just have to order.
  14. OHHHH! I've been hoping to hit a sale price but my appointment for impressions isn't until June 3rd... Can I buy now and send the impressions in that late?
  15. That was great, thanks! I went on a kick a few years back to track down some of the old metal, punk and hardcore I listened to when I was younger. I had a heck of a time finding some things, Slow and Problem Children were the hardest, I did find the Slow EP a few months back and just found some old Problem Children today (this reminded me to look again). If you or anyone else wants them PM me.
  16. It's been ages since I heard that album, I may have to do some rooting around. Did you ever hear of a Vancouver band from that era named Slow? They had somewhat of big song "Have Not Been The Same"
  17. Grails - Black Tar Prophecies 1, 2 & 3 Good early morning music.
  18. Gomer Pyle - Idiots Savants
  19. Hope you have a great day!
  20. That's all kinds of awesome! Edit: Oh and... Pelican - City Of Echoes
  21. So are you actually able to use the DAC that way? I know I'd seen the connector and wondered but there was speculation on the power end of things.
  22. Isis - Oceanic
  23. Iron & Wine - Live At Edman Memorial Chapel, Wheaton College, Il For any Iron & Wine fans that are unfamiliar, most Iron & Wine live concerts are recorded and available to buy through Played Last Night.com. I have a few and the quality does vary but most seem to be good to excellent. This recording is particularly interesting as it is essentially Sam Beam playing solo at a Christian college. It's an incredibly intimate and beautiful recording that is of outstanding quality, I'd recommend paying the extra to get this one in FLAC.
  24. Iron & Wine with Calexico - In The Reins
