That's a great nook price.

The pain meds can put the gut to sleep in a sense, and could mask worsening symptoms. It can also lock up his bladder so he can't pee (been there done that).

Thanks, that's helpful about the RAM. Our 20" white Intel iMac has 3Gb RAM and a 500Gb 7200 rpm internal plus a 2Tb external - the iTunes Library takes up 1Tb of the external and the rest is for Time Machine (I clone the 2Tb drive once or twice a month and keep that drive off site). It's a late 2006 iMac that we bought in January 2007, and it's still serving us well although slowing down with a lot of server apps running - TwonkyServer, Stream to Me, DotTunes, WiiTransfer, WePrint, Printopia, iCanSource, Airphones, Airfoil, etc. I could probably eliminate a few of those. -
Hoping this is something simple and he's better really quick. Hope you get some rest too, as emergency room visits usually take hours.

It's more intriguing due to the oompa loompas and bunny costumes.

You do start to get used to it over time, and it's better with some gear than others - like worse with my WA6 and better with my DACmini, or worse with my Apogee mini-DAC as source and better with my CDP-8 as source. It's easiest to hear with classical and piano music for me.

I reported this in my first impressions, so yeah, it's there in the background.

Thanks. It's cool that these old Macs still work as well as they do today. The 3Gb RAM did make a difference when I upgraded from 1Gb a couple of years ago. -
Okay, look, it's really hard to keep up with what's secret and public with you; so I'm just going to have to write you off as not existing and then I can't ever say anything that you don't want said.

The fit definitely loosens with the age of the phones and the pads, and with new pads they get fairly tight again. In my case, having owned a couple of HD600 and a couple of HD650 I prefer the clarity and balance of the HD600 over the HD650.

How did we miss this one? iPad taste and smell app

You don't deserve them. (is that better?)

I can't wait to hear more about this one...

I had a bad experience with the DT770 in the modded Darth Beyer version, twice. Both times the bass was boomy and the mids were recessed, and it put me off on the idea of owning another DT770. I by far preferred the AH-D2000 and later my modded ATH-A900. I read your review and it left me wondering are the stock DT770 really that much better than the Darth Beyer? Why would anyone take a decent sounding headphone and dress it up to sound worse? I just assumed the stock DT770 were even worse than what I heard in the woodied re-cabled version.

Learned how to run the scoring and timing machine at the high school girls lacrosse game. Rested my arm on the PA microphone button and almost embarrassed myself.

I might end up with one of these eventually, but I've been pretty happy with my DACport 24/96 unit for portable Macbook use. I usually don't need the inputs, but a dedicated line out is nice, and the breakout box with balanced XLR out is attractive too. My only complaint about the original Duet was some audible hiss with my custom IEM, so I hope this doesn't have too much hiss.

When I upgraded our 1st Gen Intel iMac to a 500Gb 7200 rpm Seagate I could really appreciate the extra speed. Looks like an SSD is the next step, and since we only use half the space on the Seagate it appears that a smaller SSD could work for us. Monkey, what kind did you use? Also, I know Apple only supports 3Gb of RAM on this iMac model, but does anyone know if it can use more if you install it? I've heard my Macbook Pro can use 6Gb even though only 4 is supported, so I had to ask. -
Happy Birthday Tyler!

I agree, I would do a clone in this case and swap drives. Time machine is okay if you have a new Mac and want to migrate old apps and data to it, but I prefer to work with a clone if everything is working fine for you and it's just a drive upgrade. I like that my backup can be bootable and swapped inside the Mac at any point. Time machine does have the benefit of keeping the old stuff in case you need to dig back for something you deleted or edited by accident. But time machine requires a backup drive that is bigger than the source drive you are backing up, and a clone can be the same size or smaller - you can specify while folders or files to include or ignore in the clone. Either way you end up buying an external case to put the new drive in, so you can make the clone, and then you can swap drives and have a nice external drive for backups using your old drive. I uses SuperDuper myself, but Carbon Copy Clone was not bad. -
