His wet eyes and nose might be a heath problem - our kitten looked like that when we adopted her (kennel cough). Still, he looks like a keeper, cute cat.

I suggest the HD25-1 II based on your needs.

With what you had in you truck in Colorado, I doubt the system will stay stock for long.

Took my middle daughter to get her wisdom teeth out today, a week after my oldest daughter had hers removed. Then worked scoring and timing at their lacrosse game where neither one could play.

Apple has a new revolutionary product coming out soon: HumancentiPad

So, do you think it sounds more like the HE-5 LE than the HE-6? I actually prefer both of those over LCD-2 by a small margin.

Good for you - I'm almost of the thought that if you've been accepted once before that they should automatically take you back again. I seem to recall back in 1983 when I took my MCAT that the average for acceptance to University of Texas Health System was about a 52, with some below that and some above. I had a 65, and at Baylor College of Medicine where I studied there were many there with a score higher than mine, although the average there was a 60. Anyway, it looks like they might have a new scoring system, and the average score of accepted students is now 32 with the new scoring. MCAT average I think the schools still look for well rounded people who aren't total bookworms with no practical experience in life, and certainly not just heros and olympic medal winners, so I wouldn't worry about that. I think that being able to show that you've been out in the real world doing things, and then decided that you did miss your calling when you quit the first time would show an increased level of dedication when you do re-apply. In this day and age, I think that many people who are going into medicine know the perils of fighting with insurance companies for reimbursement, and the burden of meeting government regulations, and aren't the type to be looking at hitting the income jackpot. Medicine isn't as lucrative a career as it was 15-20 years ago, but at least there are more opportunities to get a job with a larger company that offers a salary and benefits with decent hours, rather than trying to start from scratch and working solo like I did. So, I say go for it.

I dented my 3 week old iPad 2, even with it almost completely protected in a leather iPad 1 case. It was too loose in an original Apple iPad 1 case, so I used a 3rd party case that didn't cover the corners while I waited for a backordered leather case that's made for iPad 2. I can't understand why Apple didn't make a case for these that protected it like the original. My OCD about it being perfect has kicked in and all I can think about is wanting to replace the aluminum shell somehow. My old iPad 1 is now my wife's and it doesn't have a single scratch or dent after 10 months... The case I ordered on 4/4 was delayed due to a hibernation issue with the magnets, and it would have protected the corner that got dented. iPad 2 case

I met the Amarra guys at RMAF last year, and was one of the lucky few who convinced them to lock it to my Macbook Pro without the iLok dongle, PLUS give me a license on an iLok to use it with any other computer. I would hope that I can keep using version 2.1 with the iLok on our other Macs, even if I upgrade the Macbook Pro to version 2.2 or higher. On the other hand, I've heard that you can install 2.2 on two computers, and you can deactivate the software at any time to move to another computer. Is that true?

I found an answer to my 2 wk old question about using more than 4-6 Gb RAM in my Macbook Pro: 'Secret' Firmware Update Unlocks Support for 8 GB RAM on 'Late 2008' Notebooks It appears that I do have the proper firmware and model to support 8Gb RAM with Snow Leopard. Not sure it's worth doing though, but I thought following up on this issue might help others. -

I want more storage space and an optical drive built in, not external. We take it when we travel as our mobile multimedia center, and I prefer not to be stuck with an external HD and DVD hanging off the MacBook Air. I'm a computer data pack rat. My 15" has a 640Gb drive and there's only 69Gb free, so I'm thinking about a 750Gb drive upgrade. Without any iTunes and FLAC music I could fit everything on a 200Gb drive with a little left over room on the Air, but then I have to carry my 400Gb or 640Gb portable HD if I want to listen to music or watch movies. Plus I might want to use Thuderbolt accessories in the future. An Air with thunderbolt would be more appealing because I find USB2 to be too slow for copying large files or movies - I'd be more willing to store things on external if I could swap files back and forth very quickly to keep what I want on the internal drive. Right now it can take an hour to copy 60-80Gb from external to internal or back. -

The new 13.3" 2.7 Ghz i7 Macbook Pro looks pretty appealing to me, for the faster speed, longer battery, and better portability than my 15" Pro. I love the idea of the Macbook Air, but I don't see it taking over as my desktop replacement portable like the 13.3" could be. -
Sorry, but I can't replicate your problem. I just could not get a weird noise floor, like white noise, or any other artifacts. Once when we did a meet at my home and compared 6 DACs we could all hear a faint clicking noise in the background of Naamanf's Bufallo 32 DAC, although it was hard for me to hear it until I knew what to look for. However, at RMAF 2009 we heard exactly what you are describing when we fed an Apple TV 1G into a Digital Link III, and we assumed it was possibly jitter or something, since the ATV is reported to have very high levels as a transport. The ATV however sounds fine with the PWD via optical. I'm using a late 2008 Macbook Pro with a recently installed 10.6.7 install and iTunes 10.2.2. I converted The Feelies from FLAC to 24/96 ALAC files for iTunes. Audio Midi Setup is at 24/96 optical. Hardware used - I used an Emotiva TOSlink with good quality mini adapter to feed the PWD from the Macbook Pro. I had the PWD set for Native, showing 96Khz. I also found the 96K setting sounded the same. I auditioned it with my WES > O2 Mk1, plus Marantz 2240 and Nuforce HDP/Sigma 11 > Grado HF-2 and AKG K240M.

Good Job! I really respect people who go back for more education, to better themselves and open up new opportunities. And it's great that you have a supportive spouse as well. My wife just got her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy last August, right before turning 52 years old. After being on the same job for almost 30 years, she's been in a management position for over half of that time. When she originally trained as an OT back in the "old days" people didn't need an MS for that. But in the past few years she was in charge of more and more people who had a higher degree than she had, so she decided to spend the last 2 years getting her own graduate degree. It was hard work, but she finished with all A's and even landed a part-time job as a teaching assistant in her graduate program. The degree also allowed her to get another promotion and right now she earns 20% more than she did 6 months ago! We're all so proud of her. And proud of you too!

Sorry to hear about the layoff, but we'll pray things get better for you. I got fitted for my dental crown on the new implant from last month, and after paying for half of that I spent another $250 on the two pets vet visits and shots. Then went to another art show tonight for my son's photography, but he didn't win a ribbon this time. It was a city-wide competition instead of just our school district alone. Now watching TopShot with my son.

I like the nook for that as well. But if you have an iPhone, Touch or iPad that you can download epub docs from the library's web site, if they offer that service. For Library books you need something like OverDrive Media Console to read the Adobe ePub ebooks from the library website. That's what my local library uses.

Clarification on Blue Hawaii Power Supply

This got interesting really quickly. Anyway, I wish I'd had a chance to buy Naaman's KGBH the first time around, but it was gone before I ever knew it was for sale. At least I got his O2 Mk1... -
Anyone ever re terminate a Cardas Sennheiser cable?

I learned exactly what you're saying when I was finishing my basement 5 years ago, and the damn pipes kept leaking and I couldn't sweat the joints properly with propane because it wasn't hot enough (especially after turning on the water and getting the pipes wet and leaky). Doh! -
Ok, I'll try this tomorrow after I convert the files to 24/96 ALAC with MAX and put them in iTunes. I left them as FLAC and put them on my NAS server to listen with the Bridge later. So far the few songs I tried sound fine with VLC into my DACmini via 24/96 USB, but I'll try optical from Macbook > PWD. Are you using Amara Mini or anything, or just plain iTunes? Is there a particular track that is the worst offender? Also, I thought when you set the PWD to 96K you're really just turning on up-sampling, so the noise you're getting gets better with the ASRC active.
