Okay, now to figure out what Scott likes... What are the rules on picking gifts to exchange, if any?
-
I'll do it!

I remember that happened right about the time the nook came out, and Pirate Latitudes was released.

CJ, sounds like a great time! Wayne - great self control

BTW, those $95 Image X-10 on Amazon are back up to $299, but the Microphone version is down to $239 (was $279).

That's not true. I just went back through all my posts made this past month (Nov). Prior to my post on 11/25 that started this brouhaha re: saving up every penny for the SR-009, only THREE out of my 50 previous posts mentioned money in any way, shape or form. Only one of them was a complaint. "I picked up my son's 5 year old Macbook Pro after getting the cooling fans replaced. Sure is nice to not hear the fans rattling all the time anymore, just wish it wasn't $149 to get it done." "...can't hurt to try BitPerfect at just $4.99" "I came out of RMAF thinking the less costly LCD-3 was a bigger bang for the buck, I did think the SR-009 sounded a little more transparent and disappeared better than the LCD-3." If I missed one or two I'm sorry, not trying to mislead you. I did talk about money with Deepak's MMG that I wanted back in October, but it was really the WAF that made the decision, not money.

Anybody here using Amarra Mini on OSX 10.7.2 Lion yet? I've been wary about upgrading from 10.6.8

I do get it. But I thought I had been behaving, but I wasn't keeping track well enough I guess. Nate could have PM'd me his concerns, but he went for a popularity booster move instead. [edit - damn you autocorrect]

I left out the [sarcasm] ... [/sarcasm] in my first sentence. Thought that part was obvious. The point is, he doesn't care to ask if my circumstances have changed to make this possible, it's just treat me like crap a little more.

Thanks for your concern about my finances. I've actually got some extra cash flow since I made my last car payment last week. Plus I'm selling some stuff soon to finish paying this off even faster. I might part with the HE-60 if I like these more, and might trim down to one great amp instead of a bunch of lesser ones, so that will help too. Collin actually thought that sounded like a good idea, to stop hoarding several mid-level rigs and just focus on one great dynamic, portable, and electrostatic rig.

I didn't buy these discounted Image X-10 although I really liked them last time I owned them, because I have IEM coming out of the wazoo and I need another one like a hole in the head. Plus I need to put the $100 towards the SR-009 I ordered. Every little penny counts...

That sucks. Just a note here - when the internal drive on an iMac goes bad and it's a bitch to open up and replace it, an external hybrid HD makes a quick enough boot drive externally via USB 2.0 until you can replace the internal one. A normal hard drive is not very good as an external USB boot disk, but the hybrid feature makes a huge difference in booting and loading apps from an external HD. -
Amazon selling Klipsch Image X-10 IEM for $94.95 (without mic). I think these are usually over $200. The Mic version is $279 right now. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WAHFBK/ref=ox_ya_os_product

Gave my mom-in-law a new/refurbished 32Gb 1st Gen iPad 3G today. I think she'll really enjoy having it to use on our family trip to Mexico next month. She's really digging it so far, and at 77 she's not too old to learn something new. She didn't even own a computer or have internet at home until now (we signed her up for a data plan on our credit card, and didn't trouble her about the cost). She's mostly excited about sharing our large nook eBook library, doing email, and seeing photos of her grandkids. I sync'd it to my Macbook for a little music, videos and photos that she can enjoy now. And she can watch our flicker photostream from the flickerHD app, like a standard digital photo frame. Then when she is ready I can teach her how to re-download our previously purchased music, apps, books and TV Shows, and how to delete some when she wants to make room for new stuff.

Cool - I have the Glock 23 and S&W 637. We're like cousins...

Yeah. We've had the heated blanket turned on a few nights this year already. We still keep the house at 62F at night, although my wife thinks we should drop it to 58-60 to conserve more energy. The KGSS heat won't be a problem in the winter, and is better than the ZDT for the summers. I'll check out your new project.

My HE-60 also start to sound strident when pushed to loud volumes. I do agree the 007 are more forgiving, as are my LNS.

You know, after thinking about it, maybe I'm just gonna sell off some gear and buy the SR-009 after all. I thought the SR-009 were kind of like a warmer sounding HE-60, with a better foundation in the low end, almost like a combination of the 007 and HE-60 all in one phone. So I could part with the HE-60 and not worry about wonky Sennheiser service, or running out of replacement parts like ear-pads, headband pads, O-rings and drivers. Although I came out of RMAF thinking the less costly LCD-3 was a bigger bang for the buck, I did think the SR-009 sounded a little more transparent and disappeared better than the LCD-3. I know a difference in sources and amping can affect this apples to oranges comparison; but even if the right source and amp could make the LCD-3 into a 009 I don't plan to convert from my PWD/ZDT combo (which I think is pretty close to most of the rigs that I heard at RMAF with LCD-3). Basically, if I could achieve in my own home what I heard at the Woo or Cavalli Audio tables with the 009, then I would be very happy. Plus I didn't think the LCD-3 were as comfortable as the 009, so there is another deduction. I would keep the 007 for when I want a mellower or more laid back sound, depending on my mood. But next year I might sell the WES for a Liquid Lightning which paired great with 009, and I feel also paired better with the 007 than my WES. I'd at least upgrade my WES to the newer version if that didn't pan out, but upgrading the WES would cost me about the same out of pocket as selling the WES and adding in extra cash to buy the Liquid Lightning. Some might say that's like adding lipstick to a pig. Either way, I'll keep the KGSS for my bedroom rig instead of the eXStatA.

Shelly, glad you made it through well. Wayne, how often do you need to touch up the hair coloring? I read your trials of bleaching, and wonder if you still have to bleach the growing hair at the root every day or two.

How to get music from iphone to car
HeadphoneAddict replied to crappyjones123's topic in Audio Accessories
Of all the FM transmitters I've tried, the Belkin and Griffin don't seem to be strong enough in my cars with hidden antennae. The Monster ones are the only ones that consistently have the power to get through, but their digital displays fade with age until you can't hardly read what channel it's transmitting on when the sun is shinning. But you can set the presets to three different stations, so as you move out of range of one station you can try the next preset without needing to read the display (we have one channel we use in Denver and another for Colorado Springs, with a spare preset we haven't needed). -
Finished the 21 day SP Cleanse diet this past Saturday, having lost 17 lbs. I'm now down by 20 lbs today, from 255 to 235 lbs. Only 35 lbs more to lose!

We have two, might be worthwhile to try that. Thanks!
