I'm looking at $440 for two plane tickets and $203 for the room for 2 nights + food, but I'll get part of the room's cost back from Bluto. Or I'll try to trade the room cost plus a pair of my 12AU7 Bugle Boys in order to keep Bluto's old airport extreme, which I'll turn into a 5Ghz 801.11n access point. (he upgraded to the new dual radio version)

Well, I am booked for Canjam with my 11 year old son, and we're flying up and splitting a room with Blutarsky. Hopefully all goes well, and Bluto doesn't mug me...

It's just a shame there has to be safe and not-safe places anywhere, not just in CA or CO. Something is broken with society. Too much coddling and not enough consequences, along with a general lack of respect for life in some of the newer members of society.

That sucks that there has to be "safe" areas and not so safe areas. Still makes me wonder why my Colorado Concealed Firearm Permit can't be used in CA when my CO driver's license can (had permit since 1994 and haven't gone postal yet).

Also likely from Mikhail's choice of music which I did not like. Although when I complained that the Lambda Signature sounded better than the O2 Mk1 he got busy changing the tubes to see if it could sound better. He never got it quite there, and seemed to be fiddling with different tubes much of the time.

That option (to take the whole family) was in my first post, but it is also the most expensive and I'm still trying to pay off Xmas '08 in Maui.

I was not "wowed!" by the HE90 via Elephas's ES-1 but I found them to be very enjoyable, fast and tight sounding. I didn't get enough time with them to decide how good they were, but I didn't hear anything about them that I didn't like during my brief audition. If they are easier to drive than other headphones (i.e. O2) then maybe the A-10 does do a good job driving them for Jude; and maybe it could drive the Jade, ESP950 or Lambda series well too. Maybe it's just the O2 Mk1 that it wont have enough power to drive properly. Just a thought.

Why do you think I haven't taken off the Mk2 pads a second time to do the port mod on the O2 Mk2 yet?

One of the Logistical problems is that my son and wife are at a Boy Scout rafting trip that weekend, so my 13 and 15 year old girls will need someone to watch them while we are both out of town. Or my son had said he may want to cancel going on the rafting trip and come with us while my wife stays with the girls - but I need to talk with him more about that when he gets back from another boy scout trip this weekend. (at 11 year old he is an audiophile and has his own SR-Lambda and MS-1)

Well, there is a small chance that Blutarsky and I might fly up Sat AM (10:10) and leave Sunday evening (7PM). Or maybe my wife might change our family's trip to Steamboat Springs in June into a week for the family in CA, starting with Can Jam and ending with San Diego Zoo and Sea World. Still trying to work out the details. If I go with Bluto I may have to repay my wife with a trip to the Bahamas next spring break. If we make it we wouldn't be bringing much except for portable dynamic stuff, and one full size headphone each. Bluto likely an iPod with TTVJ portable Millett hyrbid and modded HF-1 (PS-1 drivers + SR-325 metal cups + Silver Dragon cable). Me likely the iMod/Vcap dock with D10 or Pico or Predator/Mustang (or all) and HD600 (which I can use on a 4-pin, SE, or dual 3-pin balanced amp). I thought about bringing the K1000 to see how they sound in a good rig, but worry about damage.

It's easier to hate him if you make it through the first 30-35 seconds....

I didn't see that last part coming - it made it worth watching when I was at the point where I wanted to get that 3 minutes back.

That's why I ended up ordering the Eddie Current ZDT - can drive my Stax transformer and K1000 and headphones.

That was a good guess though, because my Goldpoint will do that with my iMod if I don't use DC blocking caps between the iMod and volume pot.

Great post! I of course will not attempt this myself, as I will FUBAR the driver for sure. I was considering getting Alex at APS to re-cable mine for me after I get tired of them stock. Do you have any other recommended brand cable for the K1000 that people have reported does well (other than SAA Equinox)?
