My 3G iPad just reported 1196 Kbps when I checked with speedtest a moment ago. (13,155 Kbps with Comcast cable)

My Wife is the only one who uses less that 200 mb consistently since we went on the family plan in Feb. Since we have the MiFi for tethering we'll likely leave everyone at the current plans.

A medium or medium-well cooked dry aged steak should be safer than raw oysters or sushi while pregnant. It the medium rare part that is more of a problem than the dry aged part (speaking as a pediatrician): Pregnancy nutrition: Foods to avoid during pregnancy - MayoClinic.com

That's $10 less than Apple for a refurb, but Woot only offers a 90 day warranty vs Apple offering a 1 year warranty.

I believe that I heard an Airbow at the Colorado '08 meet which was woodied by Headphile, and listened through my GES and SRM-1 Mk2 Pro. I posted that the mids sounded a bit recessed to me and the phones were a little on the bright side, which reminded me more of an SR-Lambda Pro. That was in comparison to my SR-Lambda. Did those belong to anyone here? Maybe Elephas? I don't think those sounded anything like the SR-404LE that I bought last year, which were a little darker with smoother mids than my SR-Lambda (less etch). While I didn't compare them directly, I've compared both to the same pair of SR-Lambda as my reference. Did the Headphile mods cause that much of a change in the sound, that it no longer sounded like a 404LE?

Have you tried a nice short one word SSID name?

I want to clarify a little. My K1000 sound just like the other pair I heard, and I believe I have a "bass heavy pair" as is often said about those with an early SN. The bass is not all that bad, but it's just not as well defined or localized as I would like. The K1000 mids and highs + soundstage are so good that I have not wanted to part with them up to this point, allowing me to sell my recabled RS-1 before the K1000. And, they clearly respond with improvement if I select the right amp for them - I've tried a ZDT, EHHA, SAC KH1000, WA5, WA22, Beta 22, and three different inexpensive 5-12 watt speaker amps. The balanced Beta 22 was the best with them. Of the amps I own, the SAC is the best with them. I think it's just the recent hype of the LCD-2 that has me seriously considering parting with the K1000 to acquire a pair of the Audeze, but I don't want to be disappointed and then have to look for another K1000 again. So any help in this decision would be appreciated. I suppose I could just find another way to finance the LCD-2 without giving up the K1000.

Are there any alternatives DAC fr O2 rigs??

I think my PS Audio PWD is better with my O2/WES than my Digital Link iii which sounded like a DA100 clone to me. You can find them new for $2150 if you look. (Ron Buffington at Liquid HiFi) -
Thanks miguel, but my K1000 sounded just like Sherwood's K1000 did at RMAF. It's likely that with a 300B amp or RWA 30.2 that I'd be happier with them like you and Ron. Asr's WA22 also did better with them than my ZDT at RMAF, but my SAC amp is also better than ZDT and EHHA with them. You'll likely get yours back sooner if I do sell mine to Aaron. I'm about 90% convinced, but a Beta 22 or BA might solve my problem too.

With the Woo WES my O2 Mk1 gained impact out the wazoo, along with a much better soundstage than the GES. I agree. The WES gives me the perfect mids with O2, and fills them in nicely. Nevertheless I did put myself on the list for an LCD-2, since I have an offer from someone to buy my K1000 and finance the LCD-2. Do you think that would be a mistake? I mainly wish the K1000 had less one-note bass and more bass detail and impact. Mine are a little on the boomy side. But the mids and highs are wonderful.

Centrance DACport -- usb-powered dac/amp
HeadphoneAddict replied to Dusty Chalk's topic in Headphone Amplification
I use mine everyday with my IEM or feeding my Audioengine A2 as a pre-amp and love it. I'd be willing to loan it out to a couple of you who can't make it to CanJam to try there. The only problem is that it will not run off the iPad with camera kit. -

Ummm, guys, I'm right here, hellooooo. -
This stupid iPad program still doesn't sync the last read location with my iPhone app or the Nook. Why the hell did they add games and web to the nook before making it a better ebook reader?

Pac-Man - Google Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Here is the download of the game (I'm on a mac, not tested for safety): GooglePacman.zip -
Absolutely. When I buy 24/96 FLAC or 1411 AIFF music I use MAX on my Mac to transcode them to ALAC. All my CD's get ripped in ALAC via iTunes with error correction on, and then I have iTunes make a second copy in 320k just in case I need to save space on a smaller Nano or iPhone. I make a playlist for each bitrate, and load the appropriate one to whatever device I'll be using.

Wow, that was fast! I'm glad we were able to do this for you Smegster. I cheated and sent payment on the 15th, so I'm free and clear now.

But if I can find a good used TTVJ for closer to $500 is it a better value? Or does something about the sound hold it back at even that price? I really liked the Nighthawk that I had for 3 weeks, but I had nothing to compare it to except a cheap GEMsound preamp that doesn't have enough gain for my BENZ ACE RED L moving coil cart. I had to return the Nighthawk because I needed expensive dental work right after I got it, but I hope to be ready to buy another preamp in a couple of months. If I don't upgrade my preamp I'll have to reinstall my old MM cart, or continue to not use my TT (not really something I've been missing). I've considered the Hagerman Bugle, but it only supports MM carts, not MC. Or I could also just get another Nighthawk which I already know sounds very detailed, rich and spacious with my BENZ cart. The only thing I didn't like about it was having to physically unplug the charger cord to use it, instead of flipping a switch to have the charger disconnect. Does anyone think the Bugle would have enough gain for a 0.4 mv MC cart? The BENZ sounded best with 100, 500, or 1000 ohm, but it wasn't too bad at 47 kohm and still beat the Orofon Blue M2 I used previously.

I would have just bought the 64gb version and been done with it. Doubling the storage for $100 more seems worth it to me. I have maybe 10Gb free space on my 64Gb 3G version. Once I discovered that lossless music sounds better via attached USB DAC I loaded it up with that instead of only 256-320k MP3. My wife might have been interested in your Kindle though, because the nook doesn't sync yet with her B&N reader on iPhone and she's unhappy with that. But I figure they'll get that working eventually, so I'm happy to not buy another gadget.

Thanks for the tip! I purchased one.

I've searched but little has been said about it since 2 yr ago. What do you guys think of the TTVJ Millett Hybrid Phono Preamp?

Mine loads sites pretty quickly, even with 3G. PS: Re: Hopstretch's post - I wrote an email to Steve yesterday and didn't get any response.

Woodstock blu-Ray also.
