Happy Birthday, Naaman!!! In this very moment I'm toasting to yours with some delicious rye. It's great it's Sunday, have a great day

Mercedes said that the new car would be able to get an 5 seconds improvement average on most tracks, depending on how behave the new tyres. That will put a lot more of stress and difficulty on the drivers. I like the new looks, the McLaren seems very nice in orange. We'll see how they go. I try to keep expectations low, but I can't help being hopeful for an interesting season.

Well, actually chicharrones are more like these thick pieces of bacon slices (panceta) fried until they're crusty and crunchy. Those things that Al is eating are just "cortezas" it's the skinny part of the chicharrĂ³n, fried until it gets foamy and crunchy.

I'm listening to that Hendrix. Awesome. Before I've been listening to Dusty's recommendation of Snarky Puppy's "Family Dinner" which is great, the full album on videos is up at Youtube

They're great, they blend with the orchestra in a way that very few jazz ensembles achieve. Their sound is solid and the music has that jazzy groove that I miss in many "fusion" bands. I must investigate them further, definitely

I'm listening to the Snarky Puppy with the Metropole Orkest that Dusty mentioned elsewhere in this thread or another one. Recorded in 2015 I hadn't heard of them before. Thanks, Dusty.

Shit! RIP, Larry Coryell.

Happy Birthday!!!

RIP Mr Mansfield. I remember the days when MRI were ultraexpensive and you needed to fill a lot of paperwork when one of your patients was needing one.

Happy Birthday, Colin!!!! Have a great one with one of those twenty courses meals of yours

They're all playing the same stupid game of the ultra high prices which we can find on any other hobbyist specialized market like watches. Clearaudio has been playing it for the last 20 years, I can't recall a single Clearaudio deck that was a great value for money. Even the affordable entry level models were a POS compared to what you could get from Project, Music Hall, Nottingham, VPI, Michel Engineering or even Rega.

I wish you have a wonderful day, full of wood and all that, you know Happy Birthday!!!

OMG "just" 76. RIP Al Jarreau

Right, just in the same way veal is cow's one

Thanks, Dusty. I'll try to catch her when she hits Madrid. Besides her sexy looks and shape, I think she's a good, sensitive and probably reflexive (in a not very long term) pianist.
-
How did you like her live? On recordings I think she's pretty interesting.

Alison Krauss - Windy City To be released on the 17th, to listen for free at NPR

RIP David Axelrod. I had never said he was 83 or anything older than 60.

No need to spend that much, you have much much cheaper alternatives like this. They're not the ultimate optical quality you need to perform an estapedotomy, but they offer great depth of field, little chromatic aberration and sharper image than any magnifying glasses. If you want much better quality, they've got this Leica model (we have one of those at our clinics) which I'm sure is not that expensive compared to 35 or 25K bucks. On the cheap side of things, yet with very good quality (we have one of these too) the Optomic is rather decent, I would operate an ear with it, so probably I could do a few things else. You'd need to ask them how to mount a video camera on it though.
