Watched this morning: Eroica. A BBC film about Beethoven and the first rehearsal of his 3rd. Wonderful rendition of the symphony by Gardiner, by the way. It's on Youtube, you have it as a 9 part watch list or a version with Spanish subtitles. They're not very annoying

Jose, what famous interpretation is included in the "The Best of Bill Evans on Verve" anthology? As I've seen that CD doesn't include "Peace Piece" nor "Some Other Time". Do you mean "Love Theme"?

Thank you very much! It was a nice one. Nothing really extraordinary on the celebration side, just a 10 courses fancy meal with the wife, but lots of friends and family sending messages and making phone calls. Some whiskey was consumed with friends. The sad part is that the previous night my uncle Manolo died at 85. He lived an unusual life. Godspeed!

I'm watching it too, but the noisy loud music and the unnecessarily loud tension creating sound effects annoy me to no end. There should be a law that no music or effects should sound any louder than a shout out dialogue.

I have no idea how the Phonitor sounds and if it's worth the price of admission, but it's one of the coolest with all the pots and the VU meters.

Cool. In my teens I had a (pirate) CB radio at home for like three years which allowed me to get in touch with people far away, the farthest was Australia, almost our antipodes, then passed the tests to get a license for a larger station, but never managed to buy and install the gears, so I guess it expired. Now the laws have changed and it seems easier to get a license. Are you planning to set up a serious home station?
