  1. Yesterday died someone who probably you never heard of, the spanish jazz saxophonist Pedro Iturralde at 91. He wasn't a top ten player, but he did a lot for jazz in Spain in the dark ages. He recorded a few enjoyable albums, one of them was Flamenco Jazz (it had part1 and part2). You can pay a listen in any of the popular streaming platforms of your choice. Or just this tune RIP, Pedro
  2. For those of you interested in improving your guitar playing, this article could be of interest. Tomo Fujita, the Berklee teacher we've talked about before, is featured at #5. Also a girl of Dusty's liking.
  3. RIP Mr Connery. You'll be missed and remembered.
  4. I'm very sorry, Fitz. Hugs, RIP Matilda.
  5. Christian McBride Big Band - For Jimmy, Wes and Oliver Available on many streaming providers Old school damn fun big band jazz. Joey DeFrancesco on B3, Mark Whitfield on guitar.
  6. The Tiny Desk (Home) Concert by Katie Pruitt https://www.npr.org/2020/10/26/927197751/katie-pruitt-tiny-desk-home-concert A discovery for me. Wonderful voice, great singing.
  7. Thank you for the elaborated reply. I visited the dosdude page and watched the video, it seemed somewhat time consuming to implement the upgrade, that's why asked if it's worth it. I hadn't considered the security implications and the compatibility issues with the newest versions of software. I'm not an intensive user, I might try it once I get the new machine.
  8. Do you recommend update to Catalina on such old machines, did you notice any performance improvement or something justifying the work and risk?

  18. They should be going hydrogen instead of electric on batteries. At least they are coherent with the carbon neutrality goal. I'm not sorry for Red Bull, though. I'never liked nor trusted them, all those Vettel championships still smell fishy.
  19. RIP Quino, Mafalda's creator [emoji22]
  20. Happy Birthday,mates!!!
  21. Happy Birthday, Jim!!!
  22. I like Nahre Sol's channel on YouTube quite a bit. She has amazing insight on music. This video about pop music is particularly interesting If you like it check others she made about flamenco, jazz, blues and other genres.
  23. Suzanne Vega - An Evening of New York Songs and Stories Available at several online platforms Her voice doesn't seem to have changed much in this quarter of a century.
  24. I'd get the MSI for several reasons: It sports legacy ports without further expense. I need RJ45 and USB. More CPU power. Maybe it's not needed right now, but it will come very handy in a few years when Windows upgrades and updates make anything slower. Same goes for the more powerful GPU MSI has got good reputation in the gaming community (or it used to) for being fast and reliable machines that can cope with overclocking even being laptops. An acquaintance of mine got a MSI like 4 years ago for gaming (not hardcore gamer) and he's still happy with it, zero problems.
