PS-1s for sale on the 'Bay
Hehehe I didn't try to mean such thing Living in Spain it's quite complicated to attend the CanJam in the States, but provided we were able to attend, it's a bit risky travelling there with a pair of PS-1 in the suitcase. I wouldn't like those cans hold at some security check However I'm sure that someone else attending the meeting could take his PS-1 for measurement. Maybe I can have my friend measuring them at some point before the meeting. Thanks a lot for your reply, it proves you're not a dick hehehe

Post the last thing you bought!
They'd better are I imagine them as having the resolution, speed, frequency balance, pure tonality, and clarity I've heard from good planar speakers, with way better bottom end, but I still have to evaluate for myself their dynamic performance. Were they all that and had right dynamics, I still don't know if starting a whole electrostatics route would end up being more satisfying "musically" than some of my current setup configurations.

Maybe next year. I haven't enjoyed very much my previous electrostatic experiences, but I'm quite sure the 303 and 404 I've tried aren't even close to what a O2 is capable. I still have some reservations about the dynamic abilities of planars, especially considering their low sensitivities, but I'm still open minded

Custom IEM's
I was referring to Laxx's post saying the livewires would hiss for being 16 Ohms impedance

DAC to enjoy Stax Omega II
LOL, you'd need to read some Catscratch's post elsewhere recognizing how much of the source's character the O2 reveal. I knew you'd get to that point hehehe. I really can't advice you a good DAC, at least one that I truly like, which I'd be happy listening to through very revealing phones and amps, and has a sensible price.

Custom IEM's
Finally someone hit the spot It's not the impedance what makes phones to reproduce electronics hissing, but the sensitivity. By adding a resistor you obvioulsy increase the impedance, but you're also decreasing the power delivered, hence decreasing the sensitivity. In any case I wouldn't use any custom ear canal molds unless really forced to use hearing aids for becoming deaf.

I've sinned oh father, and I deserve some punishment. I've got another pair of R10s These are of the bass-heavy variety (my other pair is bass-lite) and they show it at first listen. I suppose this closes my audio purchases for this year. Will it?

Office Rig Expansion Project?
Quite nice mate. Next step is getting speakers a bit bigger on tall stands, moving them closer to the wall and window in front of you, and start listening in some near-field instead of that ultranear-field. You could get a nice distant perspective which you might like.

RSA Predator
Quite possilble. I'd probably pay for not having to hear his evil-f***-laugh. Edipis, I didn't like the V3 very much, I preferred my ole V2. Not heard the V8 yet, but don't have much interest to be honest.

Fantastic, join the gang, the more members the merrier. We can shill better and get more sales

It's Deepak's Birthday!
Happy, happy happy birthday mate. Indeed

Didn't you read my reply at the X-Cans V8 thread? He's got a lot of power inside Stereophile. Bunch of morons OMG

What to do where to go?
That's very kind of you indeed. We'll see when the meeting dates are disclosed, our holidays time is more by these dates -we're on holidays now-, but knowing the dates for advanced enough... it could be. I like cats, my wife not much, but I guess she could bear with them for a couple of days

Spanish lessons and practice for food, not a bad deal When's the next CanJam?

Welcome -=ChildoftheHorn=-
Sure, I have several white coats, even a nice badge with my pic. Really serious stuff. I could wear one of these on my front: Not really much engineering stuff, but impressive nevertheless.

What to do where to go?
Toledo, Ohio must be an inhabitable place indeed, rumors have arrived to Spain Not kidding, seriously, someone told me about it. Thanks a lot for the invite Be careful, we might accept it

STEALTH Co. Nice one!

OK then, you're the MOT, I'm the shill, both engineers, so we can publish our own scientific studies about the excellence of our products... In a couple of months we might buy this whole site.
-
Welcome -=ChildoftheHorn=-
I like having my own company, but I don't want to be a MOT. I like much better being able to shill for my products and getting more customers using my hidden agenda. Way more lucrative.

I can solder, I know some basic electricity and physics... may I become an engineer too? I want to start my own company too.

What to do where to go?
Does he know a different Toledo in Spain? If it's worse than that, now I know why I don't know of it Yep, we're living in Madrid. Not a city I'd recommend to live in nowadays. In the USA I remember Milwaukee as a very lovely town where I wouldn't mind to live. Probably too cold in the winter, we went there in July and wasn't as hot as Chicago However my favorite city in the US is San Francisco. Not that I know the whole country at all, but among the places I've been there, SFO looks like one of the nicest places to live in.

Fundamentals? Any 16/44.1 card should create a rather perfect 10KHz fundamental sine wave. The problems come from the harmonics that a perfect square wave has, which are above the 20KHz limit of 16/44.1 digital.

What to do where to go?
LOL too hot in the summer, quite cold in the winter, much humidity for the river being very close, street climbing to go anywhere... The best thing is that by AVE -high speed train- you can go to Madrid in about 20 minutes, were you sick of living in a really small town.

Welcome -=ChildoftheHorn=-
I suppose they were just using a 16/44.1 capable card, otherwise they could have managed to generate such signal... or not? What frequency do reach the higher harmonics of a 10KHz square wave?
