  1. Made a tracheotomy on a 9 month old, 12 pounds weight baby in the yesterday on-call shift Fortunately she had a secured airway, otherwise it had been a real nightmare.
  2. I'm late. Happy belated Birthday, or should it be belated Happy Birthday? I hope you had a great one mate.
  3. I think it should be a Gold Formosa. Those guitars are manufactured in Taiwan. Have been searching their website but couldn't find the 4104 model, though they have others being quite close like 4101 and 4102. Not sure about their model coding, but seems 41xx are dreadnoughts. Maybe you can contact them and asking about it.
  4. The pre-emphasis was something they designed to "prevent" a damage to the high frequencies for the use of brick wall filters in the early RBCD era. It's just EQ and can be reverted by applying the same curve as it's done for the RIAA curve in vinyl. I read somewhere that the EQ curve comes from applying a time constant of 15/50 μS depending on frequency. In fact I've found the source of that and I post here what someone who seems knowledgeable wrote about it:

Hey, that castle is in Manzanares el Real, a village at about 40 miles from Madrid. I used to spend the summer holidays there with my grand parents when I was a child. World is damn small hahahaha. Funnily enough in that town and the mountains around some Hollywood movies were produced. I think Charlton Heston's "El Cid" was filmed over there.
  6. Glad to know you received attention in time. Get better
  7. Happy Birthday mate
  8. Great, thanks a lot mates I'll let him know.
  9. Cool, I'd like knowing your thoughts about the CD/SACD performance and also as a transport. If it made a good CD transport I could use it instead of the CEC and getting SACD playback as a bonus. Not a big fan of SACD myself, but I have the hopes it's just because I haven't found a good enough player yet. I could start collecting the Hoffman remasters of Blue Note
  10. Hi Azazel What did you get today, the magazine or a XA-5400ES?
  11. Ok if no one is against it, then I
  12. Sorry to read that mate. PICaudio and I have a friend who is very interested in the project. He would take 4 boards and would build them, so he wouldn
  13. As far as it sounds like a 717 or better, I'd like one for my first flirt with O2. Make it small please

Yep. Good heat removal from around the drivers works very well

What I wouldn't like is losing all that information for a logic board crash
  17. Thanks for the reply Pars. It's a pity I can't give a double use to that nice PS
  18. I have one question for the knowledgeable. I have a Gilmore Reference Balanced, which if I understood well is a balanced Dynalo aka Dynamid, with external power supply. The Dynafet is more or less based in the Dynahi/Dynamight so it would have higher power requirements than the Dynalo, however, would my PS be enough to drive the Dynafet? For me it would be great since would allow me to use the same PS for both amps just by swapping the PS umbilical.
  19. Thanks for the comment Kevin. It'd be great knowing your opinion about its sound over the analogue outputs, either SE or balanced, which is the only use I'd give to it. BTW, does it need to be plugged into a TV screen to decide if you want it to play the SACD or CD layer in a disc, or choosing your preferred DSD output? This is important, I wouldn't have it connected into the TV, so not having to tell the thing to read the 2ch SACD layer every time would be great.
  20. Looks like not, and Kevin is just skipping our questions in the other thread...
  21. They just whisper it into your ears "please please please put me a better wire, free me from this crap".
  22. I wouldn't like to be next to a hot headphone whistling Dixie to me
  23. Oh well, now it makes much more sense Now I can't help wondering why the hell they designed that kinky chassis if it doesn't makes the drivers shine
  24. Can't see a shit from that pic... are those the K1000 held against other phones chasis and attached Stax pads? You've just killed the only interesting thing the K1000 had
  25. If you had a collapsed lung you'd be noticing a lack of enough air and some distress, so probably and luckily it's not the case. However a broken rib, depending on how you move and the way it broke, may puncture the pleura and collapse the lung at a later moment, so the need to know how is it. Until that moment, avoid any movements which imply doing force with your arms and also bending yourself. It'd be great that someone applied a bandage on your chest, just in case.
