  1. Your comments make those things very appealing, but there's no way I get custom IEMs. I'd only use custom plugs if I went deaf and needed a hearing aid. That hard composite inside my ears isn't comfortable. Furthermore if they wouldn't fit at first trial, the back and forth cost for adjustments would make the overall cost insane. If JH made a universal fit model it'd be a whole another story
  2. Natalie Merchant - Retrospective 1990-2005 (Ltd Deluxe) @ Spotify
  3. Oh yes, I like that gun metal or titanium gray
  4. Happy Bday mr Headphones
  5. Good, quite similar to decent 192 VBR mp3s
  6. Gomez - A new tide On Spotify. You're gonna love this when it gets to the US
  7. The knee injury has affected Al in unexpected ways Well, if you love its sound with the Omegas... take your chances hehehe
  8. Yep, I can imagine the ES-1's sound must be kind of engaging, but knowing how's that amp inside... Maybe you can make a rebuild to have it working safely. At this point I think Birgir could be very helpful hehehehe
  9. I'm sorry for your knee -perhaps it's worse today for all this weekend abuse-, and for this new love of yours for the ES-1 About the craziest thing I've heard today Ken, I've got that disc. I'll look at it later
  10. Glad to know JN is as nice a person as her looks I didn't know she's associated to Bottlehead. What's the album with the liner notes written by Dan? Maybe I've got it. Nice that Al was doing so fine. If the no pain isn't for his drugs and it's due to the knee getting better, maybe it's not seriously damaged. We'll see when he's given the MRI results. Fingers crossed
  11. I like Jacqui's singing very much. I've got 4 or five of her albums. Maybe she tries too much to sound like Billie, but fortunately not all the time. Is she a headphone geek? Quite surprising finding someone like her in such meeting Great pics, thanks for sharing BTW, how was Al and his damaged leg? I suppose that if he made the meet he must be acceptably well whatsoever
  12. Shelby Lynne - Just a little lovin'
  13. Yup, I'm afraid that's the case, however if they want us to keep green, why change something that works well... (it's obvious I'm more of an audio geek than a computer one )
  14. It's an old Radeon 7500 which on XP supports the 100Hz refresh rate so the monitor won't flick at 1152x864. On W7 it just installs generic VGA drivers which won't allow highish refreshing rates, nor my preferred resolution. I've tried to install several different drivers for Ati cards, almost everything I've been able to find, but most of them simply won't get installed. Some seem to go through, but in the last step, they don't install, so W7 keeps the generic VGA. I keep checking Ati site, but they don't seem to be interested in releasing W7 drivers for such an old GPU. I'd rather keep using XP than getting a new GPU for this computer
  15. I installed the RC and while I liked it a lot, way more than Vista for sure, the lack of drivers for my graphics card, so it won't go any higher than 60Hz refresh (still using a CRT), made me keep using XP. Is it possible to download the RTM for the non MSDN subscribers? If so, from where? I've been checking MS Technet site and only keep the RC download, which will end on the 20th.

Apart from the horrible translation from Chinese, WTF is that?
  17. Alice Russell - My favourite letters
  18. Happy Birthday mates, have both a wonderful day!
  19. Money sent, hopefully your fees calculation is right and you receive the money net. Otherwise let me know
  20. So they started "preparing" you already. Well, good luck, let's see what the MRI says. If you're not planning to practice sports, you might do pretty well without ACL repair surgery...
  21. sorry to read that mate I hope the MRI doesn't confirm those suspicions, but I'm afraid I am not very optimistic Did they suggest at some point any sort of surgical procedure if the ACL or meniscus are damaged?
  22. Ditto, less if the wood option is "that thing"
  23. Just finished: Dena DeRose - Another World Next one to follow: Carmen McRae and Dave Brubeck - Take Five (live at the Basin Street East)
  24. really ugly indeed
  25. Al, for your description of the accident I'm afraid you may have some serious ligaments damage, even the meniscus, but the first thing is just having simple Rx to discard bone fractures. Once inflammation goes down, they'll see, probably a RMI scan is needed to have a complete diagnosis, though that's not the most important. Many times RMI can't give as much information as an arthroscopic procedure. I wish you don't need that By now just take your pills, rest and try to enjoy your music. Keep us posted and get well.
