  4. Nothing you'll send this season will beat in uniqueness, exclusivity and awesomeness this Gift pals beware!!! Ken, your burning last year would be a joke compared to this
  5. I voted RCA coaxial SPDIF since it's the most used link between the CEC CD transport and the Bidat DAC, or the Sony ES player into the DA11, but I'm using other connections depending on the setup: Computer>USB>Lavry DA11 CEC CD Transport > AES/EBU> Lavry DA11 Sony CD > Toslink> Bidat
  6. I'm in again . Who will I punish this year?
  7. Happy Birthday Chris!!!

  9. Hahahaha, well, not all their speakers suck, but for the price, you can do better Regarding the phones, I can't say looking at that. Maybe they sound good, but I fear they're going to be expensive
  10. Andras Schiff - Beethoven Piano Sonatas Vol.2
  11. How the hell can they fit the Wifi Tx/Rx into the card? Unbelievable the things they invent
  12. JJ - No 2
  13. I've owned two Canon Ixus (in USA are the "digital Elph") and have been very pleased with them. Somthing like this would fit your needs quite well. They're very portable and resistant, take decent pics... Another great option, albeit a bit above your target budget, are the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3S. They use Leica lenses and take great pics, better than Canon's IMHO. A friend of mine owns one of these and is very pleased. His other camera is a "big" Canon EOS, can't recall the model, and when he needs portability he takes the Panasonic without much regret I suppose the photo experts in here will give you much better advice
  14. St Vincent - Actor
  15. Volcano Choir - Unmap
  16. My condolences Pars. Loosing a friend for so many years is a very sad thing.
  17. I quite agree with John. I've listened -while not in my own system all of them- to a few "good enough" SACD players, and never was impressed, there was always some faked feeling which kept me away from getting into the format. I'm afraid the future, like it or not, is in PC audio, downloads, streaming and all that, so a DAC which is capable to take maximum profit from such source would be my choice. SACD is a dead horse, as much as DVD-A, Dual Disc, minidisc and probably RBCD will be soon.
  18. x2 while I agree with Tony that it requires some amp-matching to make it sounding a bit enticing. With many amps it's not a fun can at all. It also depends on the music you listen. I enjoy it much more with classical and jazz than with anything else.
  19. IMHO the HD600 are the best dynamic phones under $300. Well balanced, resolving enough... not many flaws to criticize. However coming from true high end phones, one can be missing a few things. I like them better than the HD650, I find these boomy too
  20. Just finished Joss Stone - Colour me free Now starting The Jayhawks - Sound of Lies
  21. Still in a bluesy mood: Jimi Hendrix - Blues
  22. Stevie Ray Vaughan - Couldn't stand the weather
  23. Lee Morgan - Lee-Way
  24. Rubinstein, Heifetz & Piatigorsky - Ravel/Tchaikovsky Piano Trios
  25. Various Artists - This is 1964 A compilation of tunes by pop-rock acts like the Animals, Beach Boys, Shirley Bassey, etc. which were popular that year. Looks like it's a collection with an album for every year from the 60's to 90's ... not sure. Anyway, found it by chance on Spotify.
