Damn, that's really bad luck. I've been using the same pair for almost two years --someone here will remember -- and zero problems despite a daily basis use, wrapping the wire around the DAP. However I've developed the habit to place the cord over the ear instead of leaving it hanging, which might have helped to save them from death.
  4. If the Pico sounds anything like the Pico Slim I'm sure you did well not selling it. Same goes for the PS500, if they're like the HF2, must be enjoyable phones. Good and fun rig, something very similar was what I took for holidays last summer.
  5. Yeah Shelly!!!! I've finally received those 009 I paid for some pages ago. They've needed more time to clear customs than to travel from Japan and being delivered to my door BTW, these things sound reeeeaaaaaallllyyyyy gooood. Listening to them right now
  6. Happy Bday!!!
  7. Happy Birthday!!!!!. I've seen that match too, very exciting, sounds like a good start. Have a great day
  8. Happy Birthday to Mr sexy avatar, well, maybe not for everyone Have a great one!
  9. It's very sad seeing so much people wearing them with that silly face of pride Congratulations Tyll, I just hope this helps to get Monster and other manufacturers making good staff instead of just marketing a bunch of shit well.
  10. Everything sounds pretty fine Shelly. I guess the exercises will need less time along the next days as long as you keep getting stronger and faster. I see more problem on those 6 hours on the passive motion machine. Maybe you can take that to work
  11. Specially if you make "cumpli" = "complying" which is not its real meaning. But who cares
  12. Otolaryngologist, which requires some knowledge about hearing and all that stuff
  13. ^ You don't want to write that if your keyboard doesn't have a "ñ". Año = year. Ano = asshole (anus)

Happy Birthday, have a great one!!
  15. x2 Great build Horio, congratulations!!!!
  16. Dinny, I didn't need it either, but succumbed to temptation as you may remember They're nice, but having Stax stuff, kind of redundant on the long haul. I'd go for the LCD-3
  17. Not exactly. On hyperacusis there's no hearing loss at any frequency (or there shouldn't be to be considered as true hyperacusis), while for recruitment phenomenon to happen there must be hairy cells loss, thus hearing loss at some frequencies, usually above 4-8KHz. It's quite common having a notch loss around 4Hz when hearing loss is due to excessive noise exposure, so recruitment can be very selective.
  18. Nate, I'll be very thankful if you could confirm that the D7000 camera has the overexposing tendency which is said on all reviews I've read, or maybe that's been fixed --maybe firmware update-- on latest units. Besides, congratulations for that great deal
  19. Not really. When you lose hairy cells at some areas in your cochlea, recruitment appears. This phenomenon consists of an augmented perception, distorted and even painful of the frequencies you're hearing worse, because adjacent hairy cells to the ones lost, get stimulated. So if you don't hear well above 8KHz, sounds at that frequency and above may produce a disagreeable perception once the cells specialized on other frequencies get "recruited" and produce a perception which isn't like the normal sound. So some people claiming they have a tiny ear for treble, they may be developing recruitment for a hearing loss on high frequencies. This is typical of people who can keep a normal conversation on silent environments, but once there's too much noise around, they won't understand their interlocutor.
  20. If you can take ibuprofen and naproxen which are NSAIDs without issues, there's a lot of hope you can take many of them. Tylenol is a different type of substance, and mostly analgesic but not anti-inflammatory. Pretty safe for most people. I think it's important being tested when any pharmacologic allergy happens, specially if antibiotics and NSAIDs are involved. The allergic reaction usually is more severe if you use a large dose, but when real allergy (and no just intolerance) appears, even the slightest dose will elicit a response. If you're in doubt you may allergic to some medicin try another alternative, and if there's no other one, then try a small dose like 1/4 of a tablet or less. Sometimes just licking a tablet or putting a few grains from a pill on your lip will suffice to see if you're allergic.
  21. Cool!!! I have no idea what they've been removing, but looks good If you're allergic to Salsalate is quite possible you're to Aspirin and many other related drugs, including Indometacin and other NSAID. However getting yourself checked with allergic tests would be great, so you'd know for sure. There are many circumstances in life that knowing what NSAID you can use is very important, for the other only alternative is taking steroids, which is not always that desirable. I'm glad you're doing well. Take care of yourself
  22. Have a great one
  23. Great news Shelly, I'm glad everything went well. Take the meds, it's easier not letting pain to start to hurt than controlling it once begins and is high.
  24. I've e-mailed an invoice and a filled form to have those 009 I purchased a few pages ago clearing customs. Delivery is closer
  25. Best wishes, Shelly, get well quickly and without pain
