  1. It's sick so many of them are wearing (and listening I fear) those damn Beats
  2. plus three
  3. You're very welcome. I've listened to each of the ones you've sent twice, and are still in the heavy rotation pile
  4. Happy Birthday Luis!!!!
  5. Hehehe, I had missed this comment Sorry for those unacceptable ebony knobs, you may send them to me if you wish. I'd pay the shipping
  6. Thanks for sharing. Interesting. An acquaintance who lives about 350 miles away has recently purchased a VPI Classic. I can't recall what cart he's going to use. I might have a chance to listen to that one, but I don't know when, probably not soon.
  7. How would you define the VPI house sound? Never read/heard about it from a reliable source
  8. Hehehe, I haven't every used a VPI, just saw an old HW-19 Jr, but didn't get to listen to it, so I don't know how VPI compares to NA. I have the Hyperspace, but have listened to the Spacedeck and also the Interspace. I can't dare to judge the sound of a deck in a system which is not my own rig, but in all cases I've liked the results.
  9. Deepak, looks like your settings are quite OK. What I like most of my NA is the timbre accuracy. On well recorded voices the thing is just astonishing. I hope you enjoy it a lot I don't have any complains about its tracking, but my current cart is a Shelter and I don't listen to many 45rpm discs. If I do they're mostly old fashioned singles. Maybe trying a bit of mass load (perhaps just 3-5 grams), then correcting VTF you get better tracking. BTW, how do you set up anti-skate? Did your deck come with the NA groove-less disc? Regarding the leaving the motor plugged, they say you can do it, but I don't. I just unplug it every time I stop using the deck.
  10. You have the allen screws which hold the arm axis, which loosened let you move it up and down to adjust VTA. The long one in the pic, is just a reference you may use for either temporarily leave the others loose and fine tune VTA using only that (IMHO that doesn't work well for the arm axis becomes unstable and it reflects on sound), or using it as a reference for different carts adjustment or how much you're changing the VTA. Have you got it sounding already?
  11. Yep, the antiskating works very well, as a matter of fact it allows more fine tuning than other systems I've had. Can't offer any advice about the Bloom, but based on my experience with either low compliance carts like the DL103 and high compliance ones like the Van den Hul Frog, I'd say it will work well without any extra mass.
  12. You not only look great, but it's obvious you've been improving. I'm very glad for you
  13. Thanks for the reply, I thought so. Something in the way they stop a bullet when it breaks through a glass, but probably way easier to implement. In any case I don't think this photo had been any better (probably not this good) getting the wings stopped.
  14. My sympathies Knuckles, I've been sick too and that being on a few vacation days, sucks big time. Get well soon

I guess the ones of you being subscribed to Wolfgang's Vault have received the link to this already. For those who don't http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/stanley-jordan/video/the-sounds-of-silence-eleanor-rigby_1005092.html?utm_source=NL&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20120104video Looks like wrapping it into the "media" tags won't work. Anyway. This guy's first album is among my 20-30 favorite ones ever. I can't understand how he screwed it up later.

The guy being small was my idea, but knowing little about violin sizes and makers, it could be there was some model being a bit larger.

After googling looks like the man has been awarded yadayadayada. The violin seems big in his hands.
  19. Great! Amazing focus. Any idea what should have been the shutter speed to stop the wings motion?
