  1. Happy birthday, Mike!!!! Have a really great one.
  2. I'm using Spotify, the collection is pretty good and Premium is rather affordable. Their premium bitrate is equivalent to 320, but using some ogg derivative using lower bandwidth. I don't know if it works well with the SB Touch, but you can use it from the web browser, it has apps for mobile devices, and it's possible downloading the files (even at the highest bitrate) to keep them in your device to play when there's no connection. I'm pretty happy with it.
  3. Oh silly me. Since the beginning I was just focused on the amp, the phones stood absolutely unnoticed Definitely they look like Beyers.
  4. I really don't see how this Is anywhere near this Inquiring minds would be grateful to be instructed
  5. This looks like SS. The selectable power output plus selectable impedance looks a very interesting couple of features to get any headphone sounding good. I don't care for the crossfeed, and not that much for the DAC, but this can be good to have on a single all-in-one "small" system.
  6. Indeed. Problem is that the DAC-amp is $5000
  7. I've read about the MHA100 amplifier, there's a report about it at Innerfidelity and a video by Tyll. It looks very impressive, an all in one which may fit a lot of requirements. With a speaker output it may even be usable to drive Stax amp with an energizer like the SRD-7 pro. I wish they post some listening impressions. I like how it looks. There's that thing about McIntosh stuff
  8. I spent a whole lot of ER on-call traumatology shifts during my Medicine School days. So many that despite I loved the specialty, I knew I couldn't stand that work load when I grew up and still at 50 I'd be doing that, which is the way things work over here. I love ENT, it has a great advantage, most physicians know shit about it, so you're not being constantly questioned, just consulted >D
  9. I'll go into it when I finish this: The Gary McFarland Orchestra - Special Guest Soloist: Bill Evans A quite overlooked album full of beautiful harmonies and interplay.
  10. María Dolores Pradera - Los Grandes Éxitos de María Dolores Pradera: Amarraditos

Very nice one. There's something to Martins, isn't it?
  12. Great idea, we could implement first the Birthweek, and if it works without serious damages, then the Birthmonth. Happy Birthweek, John!!!!!
  13. I see. I've found parts of other devices on Ebay, but some at ridiculous prices.
  14. You can check the Obama album covers here
  15. Nice! It had never occurred to me that one can buy those parts to fix a Mac.
  16. or drunk. or doing whatever that takes your attention elsewhere. No one listens to the music anymore.

T1 suck, and not only in the treble, so your hearing impairment doesn't justify your judgment impairment
  18. Happy birthday!!! I wish you have a really good one!
  19. IMHO Stax have a reputation of delivering their products at the best price they can afford. This is what explains their tendency to bankrupt. Their products are as reliable and well built as it gets. More competition wouldn't mean cheaper-better products, but perhaps right the opposite, worse products made at lower cost and using poorer materials and QC at the same prices, so profit is larger with lower sales. I may be wrong but electrostats, needing dedicated specialty amps which can't be shared to drive cheap dynamic headphones, aren't going to become a consumer market thing no matter how good and cheap you can sell them. If not why isn't people going nuts getting a 207/252S combo, when it outperforms most mid budget dynamic combos? I see Stax as Linux, something that is good, but that if you don't try and face some restrictions and difficulties, you won't get to know how good it really is.
  20. Happy BDay!!!
  21. ^ This. Purchased the album download at Bandcamp after listening to the samples. Enjoyable album, thanks for the heads up, Al
