  1. Some parts from Digikey.
  2. We demand high rez pics when it arrives. Curious what their discrete output stage is.
  3. He is basically saying that most USB implementations built into DACs are not very good, and actually fairly similar to external USB-SPDIF converters. This is actually pretty true, and some of the modern SPDIF receivers probably have sufficiently good internal PLLs to actually provide lower jitter from USB-SPDIF than you would get from the I2S output of most USB receivers. Yeah, basically. Plenty of very good SPDIF only DACs out there, just get whatever appeals and a USB-SPDIF converter.
  4. I wouldnt worry about issues with usb-spdif if I were you. The DAC is much, much more important than that, dont compromise what you get just so it has USB.
  5. You are wrong. WTF does a simple circuit topology have to do with noise floor? Not saying the F1 is lacking in that regard, but PSRR is not dependent on how simple the circuit is, but rather on the particular topology used. Power supplies also matter for this, and it is certainly possible to have an amplifier with crappy PSRR be extremely quiet simply by taking care of the power supply. On the issue of the F1's output impedance, it is meant to act as a current source for speakers. When used into an 8ohm load, the F1's output impedance is dramatically higher than that of the speaker, so it actually does a pretty fair approximation of a current source, but into the k1000, it is just a voltage source with shitty damping factor.
  6. I bet Rugby is a bit intimidated.
  7. The heck were you doing buying headphile stuff?
  8. Sell it all, buy some Stax.
  9. Happy birthday slackdude
  10. I wouldnt even consider spending that kind of money on those headphones.
  11. Sweet, I guess this means I am not really a nerd, since, while I understood most of the words, I have absolutely no idea what you just said.
  12. Ah, but at what rate? Considering I frequently hit 3L a day, that would be well over 1000kcal with regular soda (I believe it is often about 400kcal/L).
  13. Nice, whiskey older than me.
  14. Those arnt burrs, they are, uh, integrated lock washers. Yeah, thats right. Pass himself has said there isnt anything special about the ZTX450 for this application, and you can easily sub other BJTs with the appropriate pinouts.
  15. The mids were nice, and they were comfy, but I wouldnt have paid even as much as I did for my SR007 for them. Now boring, dunno I would say that. It would take a hell of a bad set of headphones to make what I was listening to boring.
  16. Damn, wish I knew you were looking for an airport express card, just had a g5 imac die that had one in it. DD-WRT is certainly worthy IMO, and it looks like the WRT54g v4 is a good candidate for it.
  17. Sounds like a recipe for some DIY speakers.
  18. Unfortunately, the Fairchild parts are all NRND now, I believe. Mouser and digikey dont seem to have anything in the way of stock either.
  19. Everything but the taket out of the bhse. Some damn good gear there though.
  20. Its all diet soda, 9 bottles of diet Mountain Dew. Deepak better figure out a cancer cure soon.
  21. That wont last me a month. Kinda sad, as that is ~65lbs of soda. Dan's estimate is actually fairly close, though this supply might make it to 3-4 weeks as it is just my work supply, not counting what I drink at home.
  22. 30L of soda. People gave me a few funny looks as I carried it through the library.
  23. I have heard that they are planning to do just that, and it is also what I am waiting for. Their drivers sure sound like they have plenty of potential, but no way I am dealing with them in that frame, at least for the asking price.
  24. I really dont want to picture how you plan to accomplish that, Steve.
  25. Hey!
