Diablo Swing Orchestra - Sing Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious. Easily a new favorite, this metal + evil jazz/opera/swing is some of the coolest stuff I've heard in a while.

Question to morphsci: can you confirm if the Hyatt is really sold out now? If so, is there a backup plan to accommodate more attendees? I was thinking about posting info on the other proximity hotels over at the thread on HF but didn't want to step on your toes if there's already something in place. I know there are a few other hotels within literal walking distance of the Hyatt, I stayed at one of them for last year's ChiUnifi 3. Another CanJam-related question, will Music Direct be there? Would be great to score some discounted music.

Saw this mentioned over at Audio Asylum. I'm sure at least a few of the NorCal folks here will probably want to attend. Lots of interesting vendors too: California Audio Show by Dagogo At first I was semi-interested in traveling out for it, but man, whoever picked a location way out in Emeryville needs a smack upside the head. The hotel venue isn't even close to at least the Oakland airport?! The date will probably be a conflict for me anyway, but that is some serious planning ineptitude. Way to kill the incentive for out-of-town travelers.

$1.5K isn't a bad price for the DAC-2. The thing is feature-loaded - is there anything it doesn't have? I might buy one, not sure if I can swing it in time for CanJam though.

None of the event day-exclusive items really interested me (mostly just collectors' items I take it?) but between the two stores I stopped at, I picked up a total of 40 used CDs (also had some event-day coupons to offset the cost). I also missed scoring any freebies.
