Wavelength WaveLink Asynchronous USB to S/PDIF converter.
digger945 replied to Hopstretch's topic in Home Source Components
Am I correct that the only DAC he used in this review was the Audio-GD DAC-19MK3? ...and is the hiface thing the ultimate winner. BTW, did anyone read the 6 moons review of the U2 ? I like purple lots. Funny. I just snagged a Parasound 2k on Agon and the first thing the dude asked me was "do you have a good digital cable?" -

Me neither, but I think the 192khz part can be misleading. Each of the 192,000 samples is made up of 16 to 24 bits. That's 3 to 4.6 million bits per second. Whether they are samples, packets or whatever I would prolly want as many of them to make it through as possible. No I don't understand what Jitter is either. -
I think it would be a great idea. I was just involved with a pcb group buy on diyA where everyone update the google spreadsheet thingy themselves. It even has conditional's where if you mark your "paid" column "yes" the background color changes(probably nothing new to some of you fellas). No telling how many neato funtions are built in.

I've read some pretty remarkable comments about EAD dacs.

Oooo, yours is bigger than mine, and can definitely handle a longer/deeper stroke.

Your tongue must be bleeding. I do this all the time with IRWIN step bits. Makes a beautiful bevel, but still leaves just a tiny bit of burr on the edges sometimes.

I already have the table top drill press(Delta) and a few end mills. I'm gonna pick up one of those cheap cross slides at the local Harbor Freight and give it a go. Also want to try a rotary table. Agreed, everything I read about it says it isn't a good idea, but I think if the slide is properly secured to the drill press table then nothing should go too bad with sharp mills cutting aluminum. I like the deburring system. I'll pitch in for one for the hole tech.

How long would it take me to drive to Halifax from Indiana? ...and I must contemplate how much, if any, would be left when and if I arrived!... ...and how much it would cost to FedEx overnight a piece of that in a small box... ...and how long would it take Beefy to make and ship cornbread... I'm hungry.

I just spent a few days in the hospital and was surprised to see a computer terminal in every room. A visit with my doctor two weeks later surprised me even more when he said he had access to all hospital info through any terminal in any examining room at his office. My prescriptions were also "written" on the computer, and given to me at checkout. We have a fax in our office. I think I saw someone use it once or twice in the 9 months we have been there. Almost all documents are sent using email, and we have already been given the heads up that paperless is coming this winter sometime. I think paperless has something to do with our upcoming ISO recertification. It's a bummer that you must upgrade to Vista Ultimate or Business to fax. Maybe that'll be different with 7. For my step-daughters college admittance forms I have scanned and emailed when acceptable.

Somehow I get the feeling that your KGSS is different.

yea really. I have not read it all completely yet but it looks sweet thus far just skimming it over. -
Recently aquired the SR404-LE and SRD-5 modded to pro bias from Birgir. Have been listening for about a week now with the Gamma2 > Dynamite. Thus far all of my expectations have been surpassed in every way. I would expect this to be a typical response of a stat noob with his/her first new stat toy(s). I am obviously comparing these to all my former dynamics, which is pretty limited. I find much more detail across the entire range. Can be a bit bright or harsh in the HF with some recordings. I do notice some midrange hump that some others talk about, but I don't find it at all offending, and to the contrary rather enjoyable with most selections, especially strings. No lack of lower end quantity, detail or impact within my setup. Not at all what I was initially expecting. This is the first time I have actually heard, with clarity, the lower portion of my favorite songs. Conclusion: My feet are wet now, and I like it. Anxiously look forward to listening with a dedicated amp soon(KGSS in the works). Just relax and it won't hurt so much bra.

Not exactly a crisis, but I think alot about what will become of my former step-children, now 25, 19, and 17. I have spent over a third of my life with them and still see them weekly. Existential. Befitting.

...along with a pro bias SRD-5 built by Birgir. Like.

Amp/DAC recommendation for D2000 & DT990
digger945 replied to rpaul's topic in Headphone Amplification
I have to agree. If you like the Denon's then keep them for now. You can always upgrade cans later. You may get tired of them after so long anyway and start looking for something else. They do sound different to me between a SS amp and SE or PP tube hybrid amps, and I have noticed an improvement when balanced. -

Perhaps the fella missed a couple of days medication, or maybe took double doses:eek: I have been eyeing this(and many other) pass amps lately. It will be fun to watch you repair it and then to know what you think of how it sounds. I agree with your assessment of the transformer mounting. If I were going to ship it anywhere I would want the transformer mount to be as sturdy as possible. Let me know if I can help with parts or mounting brackets in any way. -
Maybe if you knew how to design and lay out an amp, you wouldn't have such a hard time finding parts now would ya.

RMAA Results EMU 0404 USB I considered the Edirol last year sometime. I think the only reason I ruled it out was budget at that time. I've had the 0404 at 24/192 before using usb, but I don't know how I did it. Pretty sure I needed emu drivers to do it, and they didn't get along with foobar or iTunes so I deleted them.
