Man this brings such good memories to mind. Love really is the answer.

The first reviewer 99gecko could have his own weekly column. Priceless.

This year I'm especially thankful for a good job, and a good cardiologist, who has an even better job thanks to turkeys like me:)

Sonic Studio 302 (aka Metric Halo ULN-2)

Nice short read. Basically the same as CA's Chris Connaker's opinion. Like to read similar review's with the DAC2 thrown in. -
Shame you can't use the 1200V 30A 273W Semisouth N-channel JFET's that NP is using in the J2 amp. I keep looking though.

My thirysomething yo friend at work stood in line with the kids(not my kids) and purchased this game(Xbox 360, limited edition something or other, with the little book and all..). He took the next day off work just to start playing it. The rest of us that have to tolerate work with him can judge by his apparent good mood that it must be a pretty good game(for him, which is good for us;)).

Tyle will point the way. Hehe.

They do. Not as "transparent" as the Furgusonhill's, but definitely hawter.

I have experienced the same problems with the prototype board. Using only a pair of compimentary output devices has helped a lot. Removing the DMM probes from the output devices was one main culprit of noise and oscillation(trying to measure Vgs + adjusting offset while looking at the output on the scope) My dummy load is a pair of 75ohm 50W resistors parallel(when I'm not using HP's;)) As mentioned earlier, I'm using almost the same values here. Basically I lifted them from the Borbely Servo 50 which uses similar values for the exact same fets as drivers for the output stage. The only deviation from the norm that I have tried thus far is substituting IRF mosfets in the output. All oscillation/noise problems vanished. I've tried everything from 7pF to 68pF for comp caps, and 10 to 33pF seem to be the best overall. I've had little luck with mid-feedback. For feedback resistors, I keep the 1k the same and vary the other, but I think I'm gonna try something lower than 1k soon. He's using GB through hole boards. Lemme know if there is anything you want me to try. I can supply scope shots to give an idea of what's going on if it helps. A few scope shots I took. These were using 8 outputs(4 N and 4 P on the one proto board) at the time(back in August I think).

I have since used a feedback setup with 1k and 681R(gain of 2.5) and 7 or 10 or 15pF(I'll recommend 10p just the same) comp caps. It looks the same on the scope(very good) any way you build it. I'm still shopping for a function gen. to replace the Wavetek 188.

Just incase you may have missed it.... FS: Green Pico w/DAC - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio $400CAD, that's $375US, plus shipping. That's not too much more than your budget, and it's a very attractive green. He/She's already dropped the price once. Wouldn't hurt to make him/her an offer if your interested.

Just gave XXHighEnd a shot. Sounds no different than anything else with 16/44 stuff. There's 3 hours I can't get back. On the flipside, I went ahead on and got dBpoweramp to rip things like the Computer Audiophile CD Ripping Strategy and Methodology thread explains. Goofin off and happened along Grooveshark and kinda like the features a little better than Last.fm(just playin music from a search, haven't tried the radio yet). Sounds good and... it's Groovie.

Will this new playback engine be like Amarra products, for Mac only? I know, I know. I'm shopping for a Mac now.(keep hoping to find a compete computer deal at a steal from someone getting out of the hobby, or moving back to analog)

And you'll need a little something to drive them with.

Just imagine it's a big cake. Have a good one.

Wow, that would be like a mini vacation to me! I was at the cotton bowl a couple of times when I lived in Dallas/Plano and this new stadium is supposed to be(from what I've seen online and the paper) one of the nicest stadiums around. Hope you guys have a blast!

Wavelength WaveLink Asynchronous USB to S/PDIF converter.

So is it fair to say that incorrect cable termination may lead to a change or shift in timing, and timing is the name of the jitter game? -
I don't want a turntable. I don't need a turntable. I must not buy a turntable. (I do have a NAD pre with phono in though:rolleyes:)

Wavelength WaveLink Asynchronous USB to S/PDIF converter.
digger945 replied to Hopstretch's topic in Home Source Components
I think perhaps there has been a slight misunderstanding. I was referring to the Cryoparts Sonicweld Diverter 24/96 USB to SDPIF Converter that Screaming Oranges opted to purchase in lieu of his losing bid for the Ayre QB-9 on Agon. I finally found them on a thread that I didn't finish reading(BAD Alpha thread). Not the most detailed pics but pics nonetheless. Slightly reminiscent of the 0404 innards. That one hurt a little. I'll post a youtube video of the other one coming out if SO takes the Diverter apart(talk about incentive!). -
Wavelength WaveLink Asynchronous USB to S/PDIF converter.

The thread you started? Yep. I'de like to see the Alpha too of course, but I'll see it soon enough(before I see a diverter in real life). Four things come to mind that I omitted from the previous post: 1. He has a product that he is no doubt reaping $ from. 2. If he isn't a digital guru, then I'm sure the bunch he hangs with would probably make up for anything he lacks. 3. I really have no earthly idea, really. 4. See #3. -

Found this on A'gon while researching the BAD Alpha: ====================================================================================== What color did you choose? I'de pass a stone to see what's inside(if you can even get it open without voiding the warrantee and it's not covered in epoxy). Looks like they charge 20% restocking fee. ouch. -
And your reputation precedes you. Do you keep count of the dacs you've had like magic johnson counted the ......

Maybe if you contact Tea Bag on diyA you can still get one of the pcb's from the GB(ends tonight at midnight) for the B1 buffer.
