  1. What mileage did you end up with Ben? I've got a cold so I'm staying in. A couple people I know are doing 55 miles tomorrow and I want to go. Transferred the tubular wheels today. I will miss those wheels but it really didn't make any sense to keep them at all. This way they pay for 2/3 of the new ones.
  2. Thanks guys. The buyer hasn't bothered me to pick up the tubulars. I may just leave it and hope he forgot. Gains about 0.7 lbs compared to the tubulars. 15.74 lbs. Also ordered a new fork with lawyer tabs after Calfee gave me a significant discount.
  3. Blacked out and ready to roll. Too bad it is too bloody cold and I have work to do.
  4. The dynamics of a bunch of things have changed at work and I am not going to be able to make the week I proposed for going to SC. I may be able to do it a few weeks later but I am not sure where my fitness will be as I am working almost all the time until March. Sorry Ben
  5. And edit is broken again in this version. I wish they would leave it alone.
  6. Yes Mad Fibers. Could not turn down $1500 for unused Carbon wheels.
  7. He lowered his price by $300. It is done.
  8. Happy Birthday!
  9. The C24 rims are much lighter than the Fulcrum ones, but they have heavier hub/spokes. No one has had any issues with the C24s other than wearing out the breaking surface. They are almost 30% cheaper and that's what mostly I was talking about. My buddy's Fulcrums had Evo Corsas and they just felt heavy and high inertia and the ceramic bearings felt grabby compared to both the Mavics R-SYS (and other Mavics) and the Mad Fibers. They did not have C24s in stock just some of the ultegra ones and I didn't take them off the bike but I liked the visible carbon too.
  10. Yeah I think I am going to take him up on it. He's matching the Competitive Cyclist price before they sold out which is pretty great. I just have to get tubes and gp4000s tires too.
  11. I looked at my buddy's (shop manager) Fulcrums today and they don't seem worth it to me. Instead he is trying to sell me blacked out Mad Fiber clinchers for a clearance price with the assurance that I get full purchase price towards a set of Mavics or something else if I break them within a year. I am so fricking annoyed with myself for not just jumping on the V1 clinchers that were up on Paceline. I emailed about an hour too late.
  12. Fulcrums would be around $300 more for me. In the grand scheme of things for wheels I'm putting on a bike as expensive as the Calfee it's a feather in the wind but it does give me pause.
  13. Yeah apparently it doesn't last more than 200 miles though so not really worth considering when purchasing. The R-SYS SLR's were bloody gorgeous and light but they weigh like 100 grams less and cost $850 more (at my pricing) and are way less aero than the C24s. No pricing yet on the Fulcrums but I expect $150 more than the C24s. I'm probably going to go the Fulcrum route as they look prettier and aren't labelled Shimano on my SRAM bike. Either of them are about 300 grams lighter than my 2009 Zipp 404 clydesdale clinchers.
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Thanks Ben. My shop gave me a price towards the price from Wiggle but not quite there. If I go that route I'll just get it from them. Here's another option (I think it looks really sexy): http://www.zencyclery.com/road/siddartha-custom-wheelset.html Everyone on Paceline Forum pushes handbuilt like crazy. My issue is that being at the upper end of the usual weight range at 185 and 6'5" I don't think I can do the low spoke counts on some of these designs. With the Shimano/Fulcrum options there are given weight limits and I know what I'm getting. Really it's looking like it's down to preference as anything in the price range is going to ride well, be pretty lignt and look pretty good.
  16. Was thinking Mavic but now deciding between Shimano Dura Ace C24 (which seemed like sacrilege on a SRAM bike) and Fulcrum Racing Zeros. They are both much more aero than the Mavic and about as light.
  17. Awesome Dan!
  18. Sale pending to a teammate.
  19. Easy way to drop a lb off the bike
  20. Go for them Justin
  21. I think he's 11 speed.
  22. The Mad Fibers are for sale $900 obo with GP4000s tubulars mounted (worth about $250 for the pair) and the Mad Fiber two wheel bag. Shimano/SRAM 9/10 speed hubs. These are incredibly light at 1080 grams for the wheels plus some of the lightest (and Tour Magazine Tested best) tubulars mounted.
  23. I still love it but I am looking forward to the firmware update fix in a few days because I'm tired of having to hibernate. I'm glad I got it and I would do it again. After some further reading it appears that Intel probably cut them a better deal so they went with a higher processor and kept the price the same for future purchasers, sucks for me a bit but when I bought it I knew what I was getting. This happens all the time in consumer electronics.
  24. Well that's a bit of an FU to everyone who bought this device less than 2 months ago: http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/microsoft-upgrades-surface-pro-2-cpu-without-fanfare/
  25. Yes you can.
