We are at the lake house this weekend. I don't think with the racing last week and the audio fest next week I should abandon Meaghan 3 weeks in a row. Therefore I probably won't be able to make it.

I've decided to join the quiet side and I'm going to move my Calfee over to Shimano DA 9070 electric (without any extra shifters for now). I'm tired of waiting for SRAM to release (not a good sign when they didn't have a single bike with SRAM electronic at the Tour) and their new shifting sounds like I won't like it anyway. Edit: Decided that I am going to do the climbing shifters as a splurge.

If you are going to be around. I would be interested. It's about 40 minutes from my place. Would probably be a shorter visit though.

Just wasted at least an hour and a half trying to run the upgrade on my last laptop only to realize I was running the a 32bit exe on a 64bit machine. Stupid error didn't point this out and I tried about a hundred other things first... Stupid user

Took the day off to setup the garage and unbox all my bike crap. Also attempted to fix a HVAC vent that had low flow with a booster fan but came away from Home Depot only with an elbow that I hoped would at least help after learning of the wiring complexity. When I went to put in the elbow I realized the idiot installers had attached it to the main trunk with a damper that they left mostly shut. Flows much better now and cost me $6.

I was pretty certain that it would come back to the CSC laptop but I couldn't help myself... Those laptops blow monkey balls

I don't really get it in that when the CPU is rendering those things whatever it would be stealing from is running in the background? Are you guys really running compute heavy tasks in the background all the time? I could see that at work for sure but at home why not keep the pretty stuff on? I guess if you do a lot of background animation/batch photo processing/etc it could be noticeable but even then I doubt it. If you don't like the 3D stuff and like the Windows 98 look then so be it but I don't see the animations as a waste on a modern multi-core machine.

I'm a bit apprehensive to try it but I probably will start the process of upgrading on my various 7/8.1 desktop/laptops.

I'm just hoping they fixed the paddle shift on the new one but it's not a dual clutch auto as best I can tell so I'm guessing it will be the same as the past one. Autocross is a waste of time with that. I guess it was a waste of time anyway so maybe I'd still do it.

OK well I'd be up for either. On Miata it looks like we'd need to get an automatic which I'm far less excited about but Meaghan is unwilling to learn stick.
