Well done man that's some serious mileage. I'm aiming at 70 miles a week these days, though I will hit 100 this week I think. I did 27 today with my father-in-law who's been riding a LOT and as predicted he whupped me good. He's way stronger than me. I console myself in that he's only 50.

I am leaning towards just getting the WD My Cloud EX2 which will be easy and act as my slimserver etc. Nothing advanced here as we just buy/rent our movies from Amazon.

It would be the other way around. The non redundant drive would be the working drive which would automatically backup to the NAS and backblaze. That said your point is a good one. If I get the current arrangement stable then it is easy enough and other than a 30 second delay when starting a slim device and having to manually sleep the PC sometimes.

I like my Dopp Regatta 88. Works great for me and is cheap.

Backblaze will run with a non-redundant large hard drive that's in the PC which will hold a copy of everything on the NAS.

I will need to take a look. I need to make sure whatever I get supports Slimserver. Unfortunately that's usually a 4 drive NAS box as a 2 drive RAID would work fine in this arrangement because of the offsite BackBlaze backup.

Thanks for the feedback all. I think I'm leaning towards the NAS as local backup/slimserver option because that gives me full time access to the files and then I can just have a internal drive in the desktop PC with the data that is backed up offsite. In my current setup I need to use Wake on Lan to wake the machine all the time when playing music or when I want a file. I would be nice not to do that.

I will agree with JP on the Rossi room. It sounded great to me. I really liked the Odyssey room.

We have a original Drobo DAS that I picked up from Dan a long time ago and is still going but it's gotten a bit flaky with windows 10 sleep for some reason and Drobo stopped doing software updates 5 years ago I think. Anyway I'm thinking of replacing it and I'm wondering what the current state of the art is? I'm thinking of just getting the new Drobo USB 3.0 but I was wondering if anyone else knows of something better. Right now I'm still thinking DAS because I want to keep the Backblaze backup going etc. Maybe it makes more sense to move one drive local to the machine use that for the data and backup and then go to a dedicated NAS for the backup and slimserver?

I will make it but not sure for how long. I don't really have any shopping to do but it will be cool to see JP and some of the high end stuff I have never heard.

Raffy, I bought it through my LBS and they gave me a good price that was about 7% over what I would pay online but included install, setup and service. I also got full warranty etc. Also I couldn't find the exact combination I wanted online. Background: I've bought so much stuff through them and I have a good relationship with them so on most things it's a less than 10% upcharge over online. In particular cases I've even paid less than online through them because the manager will use his personal industry discount to buy me things. I know they need to make money and I like saving money so it works out overall and I gain access to mechanics and service whenever I need it at very good rates. I'm very lucky because I know Jeff on the other hand went to a different place around here and had a very different experience in that they never gave him any real discounts.

I think Chris is probably right. The SRAM system doesn't appear to be as polished shifting wise and doesn't have the computer based tuning of Shimano's system. Also it turns out that SRAM may not even be in final production on the units so it be next year before I get anything.

Yeah I'd get all the money back and give them back the bike if they are willing to pay shipping or come for it. In other news a week after I buy my Di2 setup fucking SRAM releases their eTap shifting. First world problems or 1% or whatever but I'm still fucking pissed.
