Bragg ... Lorentz.... Bohr.... Dirac.... Langemir ..... Holy crap I assume that was the famous (for physics) conference where Enstein and Heisenberg got in a shit-fight over the uncertainty principle. Sometimes I wish I'd kept on in theoretical physics track instead of going to practical hydrodynamics for my PhD.

The civet crap stuff: Animalcoffee - Kopi Luwak from Indonesia

Yeah I know. They do offer them in the more "normal" bi-naural setup as well. I want them for doing in-situ headphone and speaker measurements and getting HRTFs.

I've been looking at these off and on: Stereo microphones, USB Microphones, Preamplifiers, Digital Recorders, Cables and more at Rock Bottom Prices from The Sound Professionals - Great deals on Microphone, Preamplifier, Digital Recorder, Cable and more! I like the ear inserts (though I'd be using these mics for a very different purpose).Though the church stuff off ebay looks good too: STEREO MICROPHONES & PREAMP 4 R09 MT2 DAT AND MINIDISC - eBay (item 250296589780 end time Apr-15-09 14:41:33 PDT) Core is a lot more expensive but well respected.

If you're looking at SS then the GS-X is kick ass. The balanced ultra desktop looks pretty good too.

Larger formats have lower DOF for the same field of view. Which is worse for me anyway. I have a hell of a time getting enough DOF most of the time when I have to shoot wide open to get a bird in the shot. Your opinion may vary. The other things are just a function of sensor size and as I said if you're at the 800 iso that the MF cameras seem to top out at the contrast, noise and image clarity from most modern DSLRS is plain excellent. I mean look at these iso 6400 shots: Nikon D3X, Nikon D3 and Canon 5D Mark II ISO 6,400 Comparison -

Where are the measurements? The size of the sensor proves something? after that lead in I was hoping for something about lp/mm on which you might likely have a point if printing large prints. I wonder at your statements about noise when a Hassy can only go up to iso 800 in it's 31mp form..... Even less at others. NR is virtually non-existent for most of the latest crop of DSLR at those isos. A lot of the noise that happens at HIGHER (MF unavailable) isos is to do with the fact that you have to put a higher voltage across the sensor to get higher sensitivity and the leakage between pixels increases with smaller pixel spacings. Hence better high iso performance for the d3/d700 etc because they have relatively large pixels. -
I can make it crash when you aren't even playing music

No it can't be exactly fixed but you can get very very close. What exactly is better (lens geometry wise) about attempting to get the lens to throw light on a larger flat surface than before? I would have to say nothing. You just end up with bigger glass which I guess is more tolerant of imperfection but with manufacturing being what it is today I don't think that is as much an issue. My understanding is that the pro level 135 glass is sharper than the MF glass (because it has to be). MF/LF used to have a huge advantage in that the resolution was noticeably higher because you were able to have the same image on a bigger piece of film. This camera is 30mp which is not that much considering what the top of the line Canons and Nikons do in a lot less real estate. A number of pro's have switched from MF back to simple FF and I see the trend increasing (though I'm probably wrong). -

What do you mean by that? I have yet to understand the Hasselblad mystique especially since you can get shots of the same quality from Nikon/Canon with a little Photoshop work. Hasselblad is just plain overpriced. -
I can program a program that fills 50x as much memory if you like....

Well their customer support supposedly sent me a UPS label for me to ship them back. Now after I've had to glue stuff together to get it not to squeal they will likely not want to honor the warranty but we shall see. The dance continues....

Happy Birthday!

Justin is planning on making some more I believe but I don't know when or how.
-
Unfortunately that doesn't mean people don't listen to him.
-
And get a hold of one! That might be the hardest part.
-
I don't know but my new head band and cosmetic repairs should fix it all! I sent a long letter telling them that the squeal was in the right driver. Maybe I should push a pencil through the damn thing and then send it in.
-
Well it turns out that Koss repaired my headphones not replaced them. The pick ticket says to "replace - H,B, Assembly, Cushion Adhesive Ring, Cover foam, and serial label". I find the replacement of the serial label the most interesting, since they didn't replace the The driver came back more screwed as before because the little mesh/plastic ring was broken. Sent to Koss: We'll see if I hear anything. I doubt I will and I will now have to send my glued together unit back to them and wait again.
-
Worse with the stax SRM-1/MK2. Which is odd since the bias voltage is lower. Only in the right channel.
-
mother fuck. The squeal is back and the headphones have been in my hands for maybe 5 hours
-
I explained my problem with my pair but they did not ask any questions (just like their site says).
-
I have no comment about #2 but I just got back a spanking new pair and had not registered anything.
-
I got my ESP/950 and everything else back from Koss today Good times, I must say that their service rules. Of course it may change but dead quiet right now
-
Cool well enjoy. I have looked into is a bit before but I got put off but I can't rember why. I think it may have been the MAC only thing but there was something in their DSP that made me uncomfortable.

I should be clear that the during A/D the pre-ringing only occurs after you de-alias the samples too.
