  1. Nice! Now I think I'll wait until I need a new computer.
  2. Thanks, I think your probably right. In an age where I could get a $120 XP desktop tower, upgrade it for $100, and then get the card and be at half the price, that would seem to make a hell of a lot more sense. I know that I should be able to tap i2s with a Juli@ or other cards.
  3. Second bump from the dead on this. Its been hard to find a 24/96 or better USB-i2s adapter, so I've been looking at the new empirical audio Off-ramp. The Off-ramp 3 is no longer based on the M-audio Transit, appears to now be native drivers for 24/96 USB, includes the i2s, AES, and coaxial by default, and is $699 now unless you opt for the superclock 4 upgrade. That seems a lot better then the sick $1200 price from two years ago for the previous iteration. Granted, he still charges horrendous amounts of dough for cables and such and is certainly greedy for my money, I'm still tempted to put it on a possible to buy list in the future. For now, it seems worth my time to modify a Transit myself to get straight spdif without the optical cable involved and place it inside my DAC instead of using $630 more dollars that my current equipment doesn't warrant. It doesn't seem quite right to pay that much for an upgrade from 16 bit or strongly worry about jitter, surely someone thought of something better... I bet I should probably just buy a new CD transport that outputs even higher resolution and formats for the dough.
  4. They're to make your head look smaller. (No offense intended Duggeh)
  5. For your birthday, just an idea....
  6. Doug! Happy Birthday!!!!
  7. Justin releases a new amp, Ray quickly follows suite. Pico vs. Predator again this time with Blue Hawaii Second Edition vs. the A-10 Thunderbolt II Esquire. The commenter that said that was the best looking amp he's ever seen must not have seen the BHSE.
  8. Its available... look at the site BETA orders up.
  9. iRiverdude, he shits on about every thread he enters.
  10. Well, I don't hate you.
  11. You can order the shits here: mailpoop.com I'm in favor of a group buy, of shirts too.
  12. For some reason, all I think of when you say that is 60fps or 29.97 deinterlaced for NTSC or 25fps for PAL internally. What does frame rate have to do with the resolution?
  13. My favorite website just got better, more then the little I donated was probably worth.
  14. What a beast! Seriously great work.
  15. On the site, he states that he is also moving the XLR jacks each an inch farther from the chode.
  16. Happy Birthday.
  17. Happy birthday Smeg-E.
  18. Biasing this T1 feels like trying to make a full court shot at the buzzer. Its mostly luck and the settings also don't stay for me. I'll get it to .100V and it'll be 1.8V in ten minutes.
  19. I think I also saw that on a B movie once where a robot was seducing a guy to escape from a facility designing androids as weapons. I don't remember if that android ended up getting murfed or not. I think I would rather not know myself. There are worse things not to know about the person your intimate with I imagine.
  20. Nice. I gotta finish my buffalo.
  21. Oh, thanks, both good and bad news then. Maybe its that they just aren't as forgiving then.
  22. My newly received Lambda Signature need new mineral wool as they have had the dampening removed (eBay reaming). They do not sound very good that way to me (worse then the Lambda Pro). The foam behind the pads is half disintegrated also, so I'll also have to replace the pads with a pair from audiocubes II. I don't think they have the brown pads like these though, bummer. Any leads on finding these materials?
  23. T1 instructions for biasing can be found here: Biasing Stax SRM-T1? - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
  24. Nah, your doing fine. Thanks
