I sold my SR-225 in preparation (I kind of knew I was getting them if they didn't come out sounds like SR-325i), but had to wait to know that I wouldn't regret it when I saw the pictures and first impressions. I'm happy, it compliments my M^3 and reviews make me feel it is probably more up my alley then an RS1.

Seems you won't need to borrow mine after all! Not at all a bad thing, they get the most head time for me these days as I've become acclimated to them.

A dedicated line would be the most appropriate if it can be done for $500 I would think.

Its possible to get past the mil-spec red nail polish that Ray uses to mask his work. Rather then grind down the IC and use a microscope, KG has access to x-ray and many other high price tag items to do research with as an Electrical Engineer in the Chemistry department at Northwestern University, but he could probably figure it out with only his knowledge of circuits with some certainty. He has built many professional amps (ever hear of the Gilmore Lite or KGSS) with fully released documentation and has a high level of knowledge in that area. Need configuration suggestions. $500 budget.

I've been using mine with the M^3 and SRM-T1 for about a month and completely agree. -

Gamma DAC full and M^3 is definitely in that price range and I think would make a very decent mid-fi system. Just not going to have very strong bass from the Gamma. A pico DAC and M^3 would be a pretty slick combo, but you would probably have to find a used M^3. -

@8 pm EST. The section for starving student was already there when I checked earlier today on Beezar.

I was reamed by payroll who removed $330 off of my final paycheck to pay for the state's budget deficit. It was supposed to only be $162, so I'm taking bets on whether I'll ever see my money back. Other then that, its Friday and payday, so Starving Student PCB and Hammond group buy tonight. I'm sure part of this night will be vicariously experienced through the lot of you at CanJam living it up.

Nice to see a deserved job received these days, congrats!

Dunno, I only know that some people have used clear nail polish to glue on components to copper traces for DIY work. I'm not sure about the metallic stuff, but there is electrically conductive paint that you can use to paint or repair traces though.

Its an insulator, I'm sure it will conduct heat some but not electricity very well at all.

$179 originally.

I sometimes believe I hear differences. Usually its not nearly enough to justify price to me, so I don't bother worrying about it.

I love that movie. I also recommend picking up the original non "bueller... bueller...." edition on DVD too for $5 just for the awesome director's commentary that paramount neglected to include on the special edition. You know the parade? Yeah, that was actually improvised during a real one. That construction worker on the building was actually dancing and those were not paid street dancers.

He may not visit again for another four months.

Happy birthday today!

Took my little bro to see MC Chris. Still think the guy should quit his night job to be a comedian, but I saw some people I hadn't seen in years.

I'm still waiting and hoping.

That is probably the way they will go, I just dream. I should be thankful they didn't just add the new "i" shaped plastic cups and call it a day. The whole new construction thing in general has me put off from preordering before pictures and impressions. I'm not a big fan of the SR325 at all, so the metal cups mixed with wood and different drivers on resonances just seem like it could be very touchy and hard to imagine if they will get it right or not (for me). The whole metal cup thing doesn't seem like it could sound close to being a more refined HF-1 though, it seems more likely to sound very different. So I am leaning with the mini PS1000 hopefuls, in any case they have my attention. Pray for deep cups.

So, I'm betting these headphones will be more likely to be wood holding the drivers with metal cups. I would even go so far to bet that the metal cups are going to look like the mahogany RS1 in shape. They will probably have the nice new thicker cable as well. I guess that would actually make them look a little similar to the HP-1000, maybe they would even have it black anodized, that would be great. I am really only hoping that there is no gold/brass involved, just silver/aluminum except for maybe the headphone plug. No buttons, just like these: My whole line of reasoning here is based on Grado not being able to be all that creative with their original designs. This just seems like the obvious thing to do. I wonder how plastic hinges would look with that, they wouldn't be hidden like they are by the PS1000. It would be a sure hit for me if it took some fashion hints from the hp-1000 for metal hinges too.

Congrats! I'm actually thinking about taking more courses now...

My ESP950 was always balanced on the E90 and only sometimes unbalanced on the SRM-T1 as well. Its such a weird issue. Hope for you that it never comes back again.
