Sometimes splurges can be helpful as long as they are reasonable, as long as its reasonable, for example once or twice and you can keep it from constantly tempting you throughout the week. Sometimes eating "dirty", for example once a week, to shock the metabolism to keep it out of starvation mode if it starts to drop is actually common. The problem is when you give up on exercising and start slowly sliding back into old habits. Its a lifetime commitment and has to be if you don't want to backslide. This is one of the main reasons why drugs are not a good alternative for weight-loss, not healthy and pretty much a guaranteed back-slide once you obtain your goal and have to quit them. Those complex carbs from things such as whole wheat (hard to tell if its grain or just processed wheat often times) are much better then the simple carbs that just go straight into typically unused energy with little calories burned to process them. Fish and vegetables are great diet suppliments (as long as your not pregnant and can get them fresh to avoid the enormous amount of sodium) because of that fish oil providing healthy fat and all of the great suppliments in vegetables, plus they really do taste great IMO. I also would recommend something like yoplait lite yogurt and "fiber one" cereal mixed together for breakfast which will provide most of the fiber you need daily and also tastes much better then expected (good actually). Staying away from the dark meats is good advice, you also can find some extremely lean ground beef in most stores. Keeping with chicken or fish helps me with my constant weight struggle. Its really easy just to say its not worth it, but the ease of mind and good feelings you can get from a healthy diet and exercise is priceless for me. Also would recommend you don't buy clothes which are too small or exercise gear pretending that the money wasted will give you motivation. Often, it just makes you more self-concious and your plan suffers. I hate my cravings for comfort foods and urge to use my time for things I consider more important then exercise or going out of my way for healthier food. I still can't do straight egg whites or avoid eating out with my life style. Chick-fil-a has the healthiest grilled chicken sandwich ever possibly.

Everyone is right here, its not healthy to have less then 1200 at minimum as an adult male sedentary or not. It kills your metabolism and you just store fat and dissolve your muscle. I'm also not sure you all are doing calorie counting correctly. Its not just calories, but what type and other factors. (saturated fat, fat, protein, carbs, sodium, fiber) Getting the right ratio is just as important as how much you eat, don't want you digesting your muscles or organs to get what your body needs. Sometimes when you slow down, its better to actually eat MORE calories as you've gone too low and your metabolism has matched your calorie intake. Exercise is what keeps it up, so you absolutely must include it, sorry it doesn't work any other way IMO. Water should be your best friend, drink as much as you can comfortably handle (cut back if you get headaches or can't make it to the bathroom). It burns calories for your body to process the water, staves off hunger, plus helps with a healthy appearance. Getting too many carbs in your diet and not enough protein causes your hunger to quickly return as well. I've lost over 100 pounds before and can tell you that its not healthy to continuously lose more then two pounds a week for your body. Those recommended diets at checkout counters, either don't work or cause irreversable damage often times. My best advice is to go visit that nutritionalist, many areas even will provide cheap/free services.

Sir, may I introduce you to some friends?

I already defiantly regret ignoring my last massage. That was not the "happy ending" I expected.

Slow forum had a video that makes me scared of people who say stuff like that (light switch metaphor).

We've already seen her engineer some sick burns. Now, add solder and congrats, receive professional engineer degree.
-
Surprisingly, they were engineering students posing as professional engineers. Don't give them so much credit.
-
Watching the news and it seems pretty horrible. Are all of you affected by more then just gas prices and money gouging OK? I hope that you have already managed to find a network connection safely.
-
I'm going to wait on this until I get a better report from some of you.

Pretty sure that you can't see the brute of it, heh. They aren't thinking, they KNOW your not looking. You saw what they wanted you to see.

I'm so poor I thought that joke might have been about not reusing bags of tea. I taught Technology at a middle school all day. Correlation? maybe.

Oh, well, I suppose that would explain the drooling over this thread in only an hour. ...or would that be a certain bra size = eighth letter of the alphabet = H?

Wow, most active head-case has been outside the chat room since I joined possibly? Child of the horn. Welcome to your own thread, looks like just another thread reduced to penis, PICO, and boob drivel.

About that enjoying listening to music thing, maybe it would help to explore and find new music. If no motivation for that; start/stop drugs/sex/job (in some rare cases all three). I find that music and work often depend on or sometimes can even affect your emotional state, sounds like you might want a change if you don't like how you feel.
-
Actually, second on that if you can afford a decent portable USB DAC/amp like the PICO on the go and don't mind having it not quite as integrated. Echo is decent in its price range, but most still get the upgraditus. I only used it with my speakers or IEMs usually, no hiss. Its possible to get crackling when turning up the pot or a hum when you touch it if you get a bum one possibly (happened to me once), but in that case, do a trade in.
-
Also, listening to the echo indigo IO amp out to the millett maxed is hell. It ruins everything. Don't expect to use it as a line out to another amplifier, my shuffle would work 5x better IMO.

Its very congested with the HD650. The detail it presents is there, but the soundstage is close to flat on the ears and not nearly the way it should be. So, not as powerful an amplifier, but for the ER4S, it should be fine and seems like your going to have a pretty clinical setup.
-
I haven't heard both, but I'm listening to my indigo IO. I would be will to bet the DJ is just the IO with the line-in removed and two line-outs. It might have two amplifying sections though. I wouldn't think their is much difference in the design of the amplifiers if any, but the only reason is because they come from the same product line, have the exact same specs on the output and use the same driver and software controller. I would just pick deciding whether you wanted a line-in or two outputs. High quality sounds a bit like an overstatement. Definitely more powerful then your average device amplifier and it has a fair amount of detail for the price, but I don't think it would ever compete with the PICO on detail. It has always made me think "neutral" when I listen to it. A little cold, not the strongest bass, and although it beats the crap out of most typical laptop output, its detail would only surprise those who had not heard anything mid-fi before. It seems to excel at not under or over emphasizing the music and does fairly well with Kernel Streaming and ASIO, but isn't as involving as I would really like. I really like the external volume control that lets me put the volume at line-out levels on the digital controls and use it. I purchased one based on your reasons I think, I wanted something a little closer to integrated and had the PCMCIA slot available. There really only seems to be about three competitors for the echo, creative has its audigy 2 zs notebook which has all of its driver issues and is focused 7.1 surround sound and costs a little less and the VXpocket 440 professional which costs over 3x more and offers outputs and inputs like a portable professional studio. The Echo seemed like a logical choice considering.
