  1. Thanks everyone! I cannot believe I'm 50 years old. Weird.
  2. ID hbd!
  3. Vicki is da-bomb! Va Va Voom, let's sing along: Another year gone. <3
  4. Perhaps Apogee is working on a USB Duet?

    Wish me luck!

Ken, their loss. My take: *Pretend you didn't get a rejection. The recruiter told you; not the employer. * Write a letter to the hiring manager. Don't ask for permission to do this. * You said above you're a perfect fit. Tell him why. Yea, you already told him. Tell him again. * Ask for the job. You have nothing to loose.
  6. Al, in the cycling world we never say we hadn't had a flat in <timeframe/>. There's a reason for this.
  7. Great photos! Thanks, ASR, for the report. -m
  8. They should have made a HAL version:
  9. Happy belated birthday to you Ernie! I recall last summer when Shreevia, the boys, and I spent a lovely weekend with you, Grace and the twins at the cabin--when you motioned me over to the side and told me you felt "uncertain." Oh, Kay's calling me to dinner. I'd better run.

    Wish me luck!

Good luck Ken, and I hope you pass the audition!
  11. Velcro is your friend.
  12. Oh cool! You have a salt-water tank. Try immersing it in that.
  13. Please post a picture of your SR71a completely immersed in water. Does it refract light differently than the Predator?
  14. Did I?
  15. Hi Jim. I empathize. However, despite the enormous burden you've carried since, well since we met back in the summer of 1944. That was a hoot, wasn't it? You were dating that hoofer from 34th Street--she gave you the clap; I was a regular at Luenna''s "bordello." It's a miracle we've survived this long...and... Oh, damn: another senior moment. Well happy birthday anyway...

    Custom IEM's

In my experience well-fitted Sensaphonics are superior to the tri-flanges or olive foamies for isolation, comfort, and ease-of-use. They disappear. I'll try to post some pictures this weekend.
  17. I'm flashing-back to the thousands of these things (discwasher stuff) I sold in my previous life. ... and the tdk and maxell (not "maxwell" ) 10-packs.
  18. This is exactly why I'm recording my vinyl. While some of my pressings have some surface noise, many others are silent--or have an occasional pop--easily edited out. Over all, I'm amazed how well they've turned out. For example, my pressing of Michael Hedges' "Aerial Boundaries" (I bought in the mid-'80s) is to die for.
  19. Although I'm ambivalent regarding anthropomorphizing insects, I do regard you as one of the most patient, concerned, and decent head-case members. Therefore, enjoy your day. -m
  20. I tried the shelf-liner a couple years ago, and while quite effective, in a positive sense, the liner left surface patterns on the vinyl. I tried washing the liner, to no avail. I don't think the liner residue was audible, but it certainly was visible. YMMV I do recommend the zerostat.
  21. Hi Mr. Slacker! Have a very happy birthday.

    Hakko 936

Just a head's up: Fry's has the Hakko 936 in their weekend advert (at least in the Atlanta area) for $50.00. (Can someone please change the title to Hakko 936. Thanks)
