  1. shop.whiskeybase.com is another good one that comes Mikey-recommended. I've been interested in a few from there but they have a smaller selection.
  2. https://www.masterofmalt.com/ This is somewhat expensive, but definitely less risk than buying full bottles that you haven't tried. I think the real value samples are for the $3-400 bottles where each dram is like $15-20. There is no bar anywhere I know of that would come close to this selection and if there was, similar pours would cost more.
  3. Happy birfday Steve! (((many hugs)))
  4. Ordered some samples today: Bunnahabhain 24 Year Old 1988 (cask 4111) (Berry Bros. & Rudd) GlenDronach Cask Strength - Batch 3 Glenfarclas 1988 Family Cask Lagavulin 12 Year Old (2013 Special Release) Lagavulin 1996 Pedro Ximénez Finish - Distillers Edition Lagavulin 1997 Pedro Ximénez Finish - Distillers Edition Longrow 18 Year Old Springbank 18 Year Old Second Edition The Bunny and Glenfarclas are birth-year drams and will be saved. Everything else is to sample before I make any further decisions on buying full bottles.
  5. Ftfy. Enjoy your stay.
  6. Mike are you going back Saturday night or Sunday?
  7. Happy birfday Ed!
  8. I stand corrected then .
  9. I've seen emelius drunk. It's quite a sight to behold and I imagine only happens once a year when a certain lord shows up in Indiana.
  10. ^And I'm still trying to get you legitimately drunk. Though I think we were close that one time in Mike Sr's garage with Sazerac 18 and Jacob's cigars.^
  11. I was looking to get drunk. And succeeded.
  12. Yay Stephen! Happy birfday .
  13. Well I enjoyed Mike Sr.'s Ardbeg 10 so much that I had to get one myself. Need some Oogie fairly soon too.
  14. This winter straight up BLOWS. Stay safe everyone.
  15. Happy birthday Jeff!
  16. About to see Neutral Milk Hotel at the Riv in Chicago. I basically know nothing about this group - definitely one of Allison's picks.
  17. Laddie 10 is on my shortlist for easier-to-find bottles that I need to get, along with Bunnahabhain 12. Shelly - just curious if you have any opinion on Bunnie 18 compared to Bunnie 12?
  18. Sometimes I think I should just stick with the dog. At least he likes to sleep when I do.
  19. Yeah you're probably better off paying half that much for something from Islay.
  20. Todd - here's a decent review from a well-informed Belgian:
  21. Short follow-up on this - I decided to call the Binny's that had it in stock, and sure enough they've sold more than half of the bottles they had just 2 weeks ago. So I put one on hold @ $89.99. I'm checking if Jeff's store still has any in case it would be cheaper, but I don't want to miss out on a bottle since it got Mikey's approval and is getting crazy good reviews online.
  22. Just some outlandish investment. No way anyone's opening those.
  23. I see both sides and can't really debate. It's just such a shame for PSH, his family, and anyone who ever appreciated any of his work.
  24. HP18 is around $130 with tax in my area. I just don't have enough interest and it would seriously put a dent in my plans for other bottles I was to try more. How's the 15 big bro?
