I have to be honest, Chris, I can't imagine being as tall as you and putting kids in the backseat of a Golf/GTI platform car. My GTI is already starting to feel too small. Basically, when I comfortable in the front seat I'm constantly getting kicked in the back by the 4yr old. And there's not much room for stuff either. And no way you're getting 3 kids seats in the back of a Golf either. I've got two in mine and there's maybe a 10" gap between the seats. Given that one of yours will be an infant seat the situation would be even worse. Don't get me wrong, the GTI is fun to drive. But lately it's been aggravating an old hip injury - the side bolster pushes on a painful spot on my left leg - and I'm giving serious thought to replacing it. It's also (even with full warranty coverage) cost me more to maintain in 18 months than the Camry did in 6 years. A good friend has a Focus ST and loves it, also has two kids and it's just bigger enough from what I can see so maybe the RS would be the perfect family hoon mobile.

Thanks everyone. The day started and finished well, the middle was work so not much to do about that. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

Much like the Apple watch I feel like we're in the infancy of this type of tech and that there's going to be a lot of churn, updates, mid-cycle refreshes, flops, etc. as the kinks get worked out. So after I tried a couple of the more expensive trackers (Fitbit Surge and Garmin Forerunner 235) I backpedaled and went with the much cheaper and simpler Charge HR. It's battery life is good for me (at least 5 days) although not to great for my wife (more like Brent's 3 days) and my hope is that it'll last a year - basically until something much better comes along and convinces me that spending more than ~$100 is worth it.

Aw frack, missed this too. Happy belated, Dan.

That's been on the bucket list for a while. It'll happen, someday. I really want to take their winter driving school.

Bah, the sale appears to be over or at least for me is not showing any discount.

^^ Likewise. A very happy birthday to you, Jeff.

I'm not nearly the beast you are, Mike. I'm getting soft and like dragging things efficiently rather than carrying them.

I should have qualified, there's no way that I'm buying a bag that doesn't have wheels. At least one big trip this year is going to involve kids and I'll be doing enough of a Sherpa impression during that without a duffel bag.

So it's looking like I'm going to have to travel at least a few times for work this year and as a result I'm reviving this thread and looking for some advice for a good carry-on bag. My Red Oxx mini-ruk will serve "personal item" status quite nicely and I'm hoping to make all of these trips (which are all under 5 nights) without checking a bag. Thoughts? Suggestions? [Edit] There's currently a screaming deal on Amazon on the Tumi Tegra-Lite Max Continental Expandable Carry-On but it seems that its dimensions, specifically the 16" width, do not conform to many major airline's definition of a carry-on (limit of 14").

I warned my wife recently that when we get our kitchen redone (hopefully this summer) an Anova will be included in the upgrades.

It's above freezing (just) so grilled pizza seemed like a good idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, so now the exercise we'll be tracking a few guests to show that they are violating the policy. If that can even reasonably be done... and without causing worse issues with your landlord. I guess what I'm saying is I wouldn't make it a big issue until it becomes a problem.

Nicely done!

I've rode both and can't say I noticed much difference, honestly. Nice ride, Jose!
