  1. It's a handsome piece, Jacob.
  2. https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/ces-2018sennheiser-hd-820-over-ear-sealed-headphones Early report from CES is in. Sounds promising.
  3. Nicely done!
  4. Happy birthday to the baron of bacon and diet Coke!
  5. Happy birthday, John! I third the steak nomination, minus the ass part.
  6. Happy birthday, Frank! Here's to hoping this day finds you well and surrounded by friends and family.
  7. Sounds like a belt or pulley problem, Peter. I'd definitely get it checked as having no charing or no power steering both sound like bad situations to me.
  8. Just try to keep the smoker out of the wind and things should be mostly ok. The trouble will be if you're following fairy protocol and misting it every hour you're going to lose a lot of heat. I might just try the set in and forget it and only open up the smoker to wrap it up. I was thinking of doing ribs but there's just no way I'm attempting that given the air temps and snow removal that'd be required.
  9. Not here in the southern portion of NH but perhaps up north or on Mt. Washington. Here it was a balmy 2F when I woke up, with wind chills sitting around -20F. Andrew had basketball practice at 8am and I can report first hand that it was, in fact, fucking cold. We're up to a comfortable 8 now. Today's Fun Fact - Mt. Washington did recently break its record low for air temp. On Dec 28th it was -34F (basically the same in C since they converge at -40) and with the ~90MPH winds the wind chill was -85. The air temp broke the record from 1933 of -31F.
  10. Nate's home for wayward audio shit is still marginally operating on the east coast. And having seen Al's closet, everyone's wallet should be very, very afraid.
  11. Agreed. I complete trust the Mac OS cloning/recovery interface, Windows not so much.
  12. I have no excuse, but wish to wish you a happy belated regardless!
  13. Ken, Why clone? Is there software that you want to transfer but don't have install files for or something? Otherwise, I think it's always best to start with a fresh install of the OS.
  14. ^^^ Glad to hear that, Ian, was wondering if any progress had been made on the snow clearing front. SITREP - it's windy as a mofo out right now. Not snowing much but I'd guess the predicted 30mph winds w/ gusts up to 50mph have arrived in full force. Lost of coastal flooding also being reported due to the supermoon tide plus the storm surge. Areas of Boston got it bad and sounds like some of NH did too. Hoping work survived ok.
  15. Happy belated Birthday!
  16. Just cleared 8" or so of snow off the driveway and helped the neighbor clear theirs (his blower broke) and in the hour and half it took to do that we got another 2"+. It's now right at 32F and what's coming down is heavy and wet, which doesn't bode well for the overnight. Tomorrow's high is 12, with a low of -5.
  17. Started snowing in earnest here around 8am this morning. I'm planning to work a half-day and then head home. Should be an interesting commute.
  18. Am I the only one who watched that and imagined Colin screaming, "NOT MY SKINNY JEANS, PLEASE, NOT THE JEANS!"
  19. Comcast can barely (if really) deliver 1080p content, forget 4k and 8k. I get pushing boundaries but it'd be nice if the content led the charge rather than the display. Still, if this somehow pushes prices of pedestrian 4k units down I'm all for it.
  20. All this talk of chili verde got me inspired.
  21. This is where I've gotten mu metal before for shielding purposes - https://lessemf.com/. I've also used their mucord for signal wiring to good effect.
  22. It's been over two weeks since we saw temps above 0C.
  23. Very nice, Al. I looked for ribs to do today but evidently there was a run on them and there was only one small package left. There's always next weekend.
  24. In truth, Peter, I've been known to use the slow-cooked carnitas pork with the base recipe as well but it's different/better with the pan-browned pork cubes. Glad it turned out to your liking, Al. It's a family favorite that I got from another mexican-food-loving friend. I've never put it in a burrito like that but it looks yummy!
  25. Yup, that's the stuff.
