  1. Basically loving it so far, with the one exception that the shots seem pretty small. Don't know if it's just the coffee I have absorbing a lot of the initial water or what, but basically the best process so far seems to be to run a single through it, then a double, to get the volume/flavor right. I'm sure I'm not doing something exactly right but based on the research I've done I pretty much have the grind and tamp done right so that only leaves the machine. I did purchase the 3yr warrant thru Amazon so I'm not really worried. If it bugs me long term I'll get it replaced. Or I guess I could start monkeying with the settings and see what happens. Regardless, it was a good week of coffee.
  2. i just started it a few days ago. It's the first show in a long time to capture my interest enough to actually want to watch more. Only through the first three episodes but looking forward to the rest of it even though I have no idea where they are going with it.
  3. This could be trouble. First results were very promising, if not entirely drinkable. I'll toy with grind just a big more to get a full extraction but tomorrow morning should be fun and interestingly enough, I liked the flavor of the straight latte enough that I don't think I'd add sugar. That's a big change from how I drink straight coffee.
  4. My health insurance provided essentially pays me to wear the tracker. If I exercise enough the reimbursement more than pays for the tracker so it's hard not to wear it. Still, I need to be better about taking it off from time to time.
  5. Went to a wedding last night and decided that I'd already tracked enough steps/activity that I could wear an actual watch. And yes, I know the date is wrong. I was in a rush to get ready and didn't feel up to fiddling.
  6. Happy Birthday to the founder!
  7. Happy belated!
  8. What a pain in the balls, Jacob. My car was hit 7 months ago and I still haven't found the time to get it fixed.
  9. ^^^ Sadly I agree. There was just so little good about it, even when I was able to disconnect myself from how good the book was. It was rushed, compressed, poorly executed, blah blah blah.
  10. For consistency's sake I restricted Al's least favorite camper from posting for four years. Seemed like the right thing to do.
  11. Happy Birthday! Epic ride you did there.
  12. Happy Birthday, Mike!
  13. Happy Birthday, Birgir!
  14. Mine is a 2015 and I'm very happy with it. I do feel like it struggles a bit due to lack of RAM sometimes, but it's mostly the onboard storage limitations (128GB) that have started to creep in more often. But I also think the issues with the current keyboards are probably overblown. I've got two coworkers who just bought different versions of the butterfly keyboard (12" Macbook, 2018 Air) so it'll be interesting to see if either has issues.
  15. Considering that I'm likely to replace my aging, 4GB RAM Air next year this article was of particular interest to me. https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/apple-will-ditch-macbook-butterfly-keyboard/
  16. Happy Birthday, Greg!
  17. Happy Birthday, Justin!
  18. Got sick of cords all over the place. DIY'ed a charging drawer using a cheap conference room table fixture from Amazon. Much cheaper than the commercial products that run around the $300 mark.
  19. Finally got my issues sorted with the help of a friend.
  20. Woot! Happy Birthday to the real Mr. DIY'er! Here's to hoping life if NYC is treating you well and you aren't pissing your neighbors off running the CNC.
  21. ^^^ That's a huge suck pill. sorry to hear about the double bad luck with wheels trip. I've been having a hell of a time with the rear tire on my MTB. I've been popping tubes left and right and decided to try tubeless. First attempt leaked badly. Second, well I'll let the picture speak for itself. Got that for Father's Day yesterday. Managed to get it cleaned up, remounted, re-inflated and a short rainy ride in but it still won't hold air. Dropping it off at a friend's tomorrow who's more in tune with this bike shit than I am.
  22. I'm obviously a part-time fan of this stuff but goddamn this has been a roller coaster.

  24. For reasons somewhat detailed in other threads I have been training pretty aggressively this season. A couple of times so far I've decided to push, hard. This morning was one of those times.

    House Build Pics

^^There's a number of towns around here that require exactly that. The contractors' favorite trick is to save one wall of the garage, usually the back of the garage.
