  1. I've offered to send it, no one has seemed that interested. Nums still won't give me his address to send him the cables he had me made so I'm certainly not sending it to him!
  2. Yeah, I don't see Tyll selling modules on a regular basis. My modules was somewhat of a proof of concept type thing to see if it could be done. I'd really like to hear an Opus one of these days but I don't see time to build one soon and have zero motivation to do so given that I already have more sources than I know what to do with and not enough amps!
  3. I'm listening to it as I type and about to start a little back to back vs. the Wadia 830 over the next couple days. Both are feed single ended outputs to tyrion's MPX3. I'm going to run them like that for a while and then run them both balanced to the mini32 and we'll see just how good this little dac is. The WADIA was originally ~$3000 and still considered to be pretty decent as far as I know. In fairness though, I'm generally not the pickiest guy so I don't expect to uncover earth shattering differences between the two. And the Florida crew got to spend some time with the Hertsens recently, I think their impressions are in the thread on Head-Fi.
  4. It's funny, I had IEMs (the 716s) on while I was working today since they're the only small headphones that I own and I stopped and thought at one point how it was pretty absurd since the most noise my neighborhood gets is from the train a mile away that passes a couple times a day or the occasional car. It's pretty darn quiet 'round here and the stars at night are pretty impressive as well.
  5. Just for you Reks, I'll try the second step of the stepper this afternoon.
  6. Plenty of snow here in NH. After an hour of shoveling this is all that I'd manged. Clear a path to the deck. Clear a little of the deck Lots more to go... Gratuitous shot of the back yard Almost exactly an hour later I'm done.
  7. Nah I hadn't shoveled the deck in over a week, no time. Took a few pics for boomana since she's been nostalgic for snow.
  8. Just finished shoveling ~2' of snow off the deck, took about 2hrs. This is vacation?
  9. Thanks guys, I'll see what the seller included as well as what 6SN7s I have kicking around. The EH combo was definitely not worth trying again. And it's also been clarified that I'm a church mouse when it comes to my listening levels. Last night I spot checked levels and my average was around 65db on the first click of the stepper, the next two steps each raised the level 5 to 6db with each step, which made things a bit too loud for my ears. What can I say, I live in the country with almost no ambient noise and I like my hearing.
  10. So I moved the MPX3 back into my main rig tonight and did some shuffling of components so that I can use it to do a little relative comparing of my two primary sources. Made a somewhat troubling discovery, with the MPX3 being fed by my DAC I'm on the first click of the stepper and it's plenty loud with my HD650s. Two steps was too much. Granted, I listen softer than the average person but having no adjustability is a little scary. Any alternate tube suggestions that Mike might try? I'm guessing he might want to investigate them.
  11. I do what little I can.
  12. Nah, I'm just messing with you. Nugget Audio prides itself on fairly accurate, somewhat reasonable turn-around times.
  13. Quite frankly, I'm enjoying the amp too much to take it apart. Been working from home at night and it's been good company. :tease:
  14. I thought you wanted the full SinglePower experience? And you think I'm not a tall, skinny scary white dude?
  15. I figured it was some kind of threat of what would happen if I showed up at CanJam without the amp...
  16. Damn us? You should be thanking us.
  17. Now that was funny. I heard vcoheda gave him a leg up to help.
  18. I died as a result of a coconut to the head? That's kinda sad.
  19. Thanks guys, not sure why the seller included them. And the MPX3 is quite nice with metal.
  20. It did indeed drive the HF-1s well, until the bowl pads raped my ears into submission after about 2hrs. Had to switch back to the all night comfort of the Senns and it's still sounding good. This weekend I'll roll some of the other 6SN7's that came with it into the driver position. I wonder if Mike knows how many tubes came with it? Speaking of tubes that came with it, there are some random 6CG7's in the box, will these work with the adapters?
  21. Why would I do this? My goal is to add preamp functionality to the amp, and an active preamp at that. So my plan is to take the output from the switched headphone jack and wire it to a third pair of RCAs on the back. I'm told this is exactly what Mikhail would do.
  22. What is going on? Is this the week when everyone's shit breaks around here?
