  1. Got a link to the pics? The only one I found on his site was this: And it doesn't show a whole heck of a lot.
  2. tubyness = And Reks, the texture control would have some effect on volume naturally since a lot of tube amps experience a gain change with respect to the amount of negative feedback applied. The newly released Bijou amp design is a good example.
  3. I believe that photographic evidence presented has shown that this individual is doing nothing other than trying to game fame through the use of my pseudonym.
  4. Pretty much what I was thinking, I've heard two pairs and been given no reason that my impressions would change if I heard a third.
  5. Mike, I do what I can and considering how little that is I take an offer when it's presented.
  6. Why wade into the shallow end of the pool when you can go straight for the high-dive?
  7. Ok you AT freaks, what's the story with these? http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f10/ic-audio-technica-w11r-278833/
  8. It's a great list, actually would make a hell of a playlist come to think of it.
  9. Uh oh, I have angered the Reks although how I did I am unsure.
  10. Very entertaining read so far.
  11. XLR to RCA cables would fix that boggle.
  12. Somebody got a lot of "work" done yesterday!
  13. He hardly had the Wheatfield for any amount of time before I snatched it up and started modding it. Of course I then went and got stupid and sold it.
  14. 2007, ugh. I'm actually ending it much the way I started it, my rig is in shambles. I know where I want it to go but it is going to take time, my time specifically, to get it set. At the start of 2007 I thought I was climbing the final hill, I had begun preparations for building a single-ended beta22 and couldn't imagine that I'd ever do anything more insane than that (infamous last words). Then there was the meet in NYC, where it was shown to me with great clarity that my source was truly lacking. That situation cleared itself up with the arrival of the Hertsens DAC which in turn started a conversation that I'd never really imagined happening. Should I go balanced? So the beta22 was sold and construction began, or rather planning started for the balanced beta project. Then life got really, really busy. That's pretty much where things stand for me. I've got the source side of things more than covered and if I could just find the time and motivation I might actually have my balanced rig ready for CanJam... Then there's that whole STAX itch which seems to be rearing its ugly head again.
  15. That picture always looked so bad I thought it was photoshopped for the longest time.
  16. One quick question, Haj. Did you get the shelves pre-cut or did you cut them yourself?
  17. Looks great, Haj. If you're having trouble finding washers, nuts, ect., abandon the big stores and seek out your local mom and pop hardware store. Assuming one still exists. I know that my local, small hardware store has 2 to 3x the number of fasteners that HD/Lowes has.
  18. Merry Christmas!
  19. HE60s? StaX something (lambda pro, sigma pro)?? Those are really the only two things that are going to get me buying headphones again. Other than that I'm done with dynamics with one caveat, I'm curious what can or cans Sennheiser is going to unveil at CES in a week a week and a half.
  20. Have a happy birthday!
  21. Two fracken years??!?!?! I'm sorry, no upgrade is worth not having something for more than 2yrs. I'm sure Wayne has other gear, or at least I sincerely hope that it does, but good grief. :|
  22. Before making any strong recommendations I'd like to know what your current source is and if you're saying that you're planning to make a couple of purchases spread out over a few months. If it is only going to be a month or so between ~$400 purchases it probably doesn't make a whole lot of difference what order you buy things in and I'd rather treat it like you've got a budget of ~$800. And that's not to say that Grawk's advice is bad, quite the contrary, that would make a hell of a budget rig.
  23. Home made blueberry muffins that I just baked, yum.
  24. I also don't believe that it's all that appropriate for a MOT to solicit business through the PM system. My thoughts about Ori, get a friggen professional looking pcb made if you're going to claim you're superior to anything. Sure, his home etched version (that's what it looks like anyway) probably works fine but come on.
