Am I the only one who can't see the friggen pictures again.

I've always been told that unless you have complete control of subwoofer placement in your room you'd best be getting 2 to make sure that you can level match and not have directional bass. With that in mind, if I had the desire I'd be looking at Outlaw's LFM-2. Compact package, plenty of extension (in my book) and affordable enough so that I could run twins. Doesn't have continuous phase adjustment but has 0-180 switch which has been enough in my experience.

Bah, still costs way less than a transporter and can be coupled to any DAC you want.

Agreed, it would be best if it worked as a remote for any Squeezebox device, which it might, I can't remember.

The weird thing is that the headphone is pretty damn quiet, certainly quieter than the preamp outputs that I added even though they're essentially the same thing. So I'm pretty sure that it's not a ground loop although now that I think about it the amp does have a slight issue with the grounding of the volume pot. Not sure why this would effect the preamp outputs more...

I think if you like their music you'd be hard pressed not to like the film. I'm 10 minutes (1 song) in and it's fracken great. I'll probably wait and watch the rest with the benefit of speakerz.

You probably have a gain of 11, which is insanely high for just about every application. Rather than deal with the complexity of a switch your problem could more than likely be solved by replacing two resistors. I bet the penguin could handle that for you.

Hey, as long as it's not annoying you I'm ok. I wish I could have found its root cause but with limited testing scenarios (not to mention that the one speaker amp i do have has a slight hum) meant not knowing if there was even an issue. That's what you get from the back alley audio group.

Sweet, Mike, glad to hear that you got it all up and running and that it survived the journey ok. If the hum becomes bothersome I'll talk with Mikhail and see what he recommends. I routed the wire along with the signal wire but I'm wondering if in a chassis that tight that it really requires shielding of some sort.

If anyone is curious I have the pin-out from Apogee and am currently looking into suitable D-sub connectors. Apogee has been very helpful.
