  1. Sounds like I'm waiting for either a big trip or better apps.
  2. Time for a bugle?
  3. Ok, someone convince me that there are apps that are worth paying the $10 to upgrade to the 2.0 software for my iTouch. I've looked and since I don't need the remote feature I can't really see anything. What am I missing?
  4. That's pretty much what I was thinking, I mean COME ON!
  5. I knew the older stuff was worse but I had thought that things were getting better? I mean seriously, he's already got one (albeit shitty) terminal strip in there, why not just add a couple more and avoid the perception of cutting corners? I mean jesus, those things are a failure point waiting to happen and oh, if they do let go (like in shipping) they'll leave exposed ends of bare wire.
  6. Am I the only one completely floored by that power supply?? He can't seriously be using fricken twist crimp caps (both orange and gray in the pictures) to splice stuff together in a $4000 amp can he? I mean there's just no way...
  7. I suspect storage bumps soon. Gotta do something to increase sales.
  8. Hmmm, I thought that the one you were showing was the metalized plastic one. The one that I'm talking about is this one: That's part #276-1508 And not to worry, no trade secrets here. I prefer Mogami's mic cable to the canare and if you want to go more exotic than that you could try some HGA solid silver or Neotech UPOCC copper. I've done duet cables with both.
  9. Nice! I prefer the other shell that Radio Shack offers, it seems to work better. Specifically it has better screw projection causing fewer problems with attachment to the duet. If you have any issues just remove the washers from the back side of the connection, they aren't strictly necessary.
  10. Kevin, Can you point directly to those pictures? After my experience with the Menace I've been really curious to see the inside of an Extreme.
  11. Wasn't there some info a while back about how the whole D# line was manufactured by someone else and just rebranded by Denon?
  12. Todd, I think the biggest thing that would drive me nuts as a customer right now is that every time he shows up at a meet now (see the National, for example) he's got a whole host of new products that clearly took some time to develop. So if I (as a customer) had any illusions that he was working on my gear that would firmly punch a whole in it.
  13. That is bizarre, I've never even had to use the high temperature setting on my heat gun.
  14. What were you using to shrink it?
  15. Ok, so we all know about the various issue SP has delivering product on time. Several long standing members here have had rather large issues but everything always seemed to get sorted out, with the exception of Elephas. And, quite frankly, because I've always found Mikhail to be a nice guy when I've seen him at meets I've treated this all pretty lightly and figured that he'd just gotten behind again or underestimated the amount of time that it was going to take for a custom build. That was until today when I read some of the more recent posts in the SP thread on Head-Fi (thread starts here). What I find most troubling are the posts by Elephas, tom hankins and Kang on page 17. Between the 3 of them Mikhail has $30k+ and in each case is way beyond promised shipping deadlines and how (in tom's case) appears to be providing fraudulent shipping information. In addition there is the odd coincidence that moon audio has removed all of the SP information from their site (it's still hosted, but the links are gone). I posted this because while it's not my intention to fan the flames or rip Mikhail I think this is one of those issues that is vital to the community as a whole. Mikhail/SP is a major player and this is bad, really bad.
  16. Techflex FTL. If you want some 3/8" nylon multifilament, jacob, just shoot me a PM. IIRC it'll fit right over the mogami jacket.
  17. The Nuetrik XLR's tough? Get a vice Vincent, they're easy as can be if you have something to hold them and they're impossible to beat for the price.
  18. Let's hope that Mike's experience doesn't become the standard, 5hrs on standby is absolutely unacceptable.
  19. Whoa, is that yours?!?!?
  20. Yeah, I probably need to revise my motto: no more Stax in '08.

    Burn Notice

yeah, the mom is awful. But I agree, otherwise a pretty good start to the season.
  22. The SRM and L/pro were the ones listed on Audiogon with the $5750 asking price. I correctly guessed that it was a typo and ended up getting them for $575. Considering that the amps have been selling for that much I feel like I got a good deal. And I now have serious motivation to get the Koss adapter built so that some side by side comparisons can be done.
  23. You'll have to talk to the immoderator about them when he gets his cables.
