  1. Wait, so on the Audioengine speakers the amp is only in one of the speakers? That would seem to imply that the enclosures are substantially different...
  2. If you don't mind cables coming out the front (not a big deal in my book) it has a variable line out.
  3. Ian found Tangentsoft, told me about it and the rest is history.
  4. You should be getting all sorts of fun packages this week.
  5. What I bought should be the 3rd Edition, maybe it contains the project you're talking about?
  6. All power conditioners that I've seen incorporate a surge protector and filter as well so you wouldn't need both. No experience with the Duet, sorry.
  7. At a minimum buy one of these: Item # PW8R15AUD, 15 Amp, 8 Isolated Receptacle Point of Use Unit for Audio Use on Brick Wall That'll help with the surge portion of the equation. If you want to deal with the dips and surges you'll need something a bit more than just a surge/filter product. For that you'll want something more like a power conditioner. There is a fair amount of debate about what the various options do and don't do and while I hesitate to do anything other than give a direct recommendation in this case I can't. I use a MonsterPower product, which probably isn't the best but was reasonably priced and I've never felt like it was doing anything bad.
  8. I think that it was just that the second stepper wasn't indexed to match the first. I agree that it's pretty weak to not have it done, but I'm sure it took all of 5 minutes to correct.
  9. I wonder if it just reset some stuff and the weeklies will take a bit to catch back up since the monthly stuff still works.
  10. So evidently Elephas's ES-1 was at the meet this weekend and Mikhail stated that he was going to ship the amp Monday (today). I guess we'll see how that goes. Also, attendees said that Mikhail claimed that the SDS-XLR was "in his wife's car" but no one saw it. Regardless it sounds like there all that is left is an unresolved aesthetic issue with the front panel of that amp, which I can understand needing to be resolved before shipping.
  11. Does it really need to be planned when one's intention is just to go out, have a good time, have a few drinks and end up somewhere?
  12. I'm gettin' enough done, wise guy.
  13. *cough* squeezebox *cough* Never be in the same room with the computer, it makes life much easier.
  14. Built another set of the immoderator series of IC's. [edit]check that, made two sets of IC's.
  15. Happy Birthday!
  16. Heh, yeah I caught that. I'm the unnamed photographer.
  17. We've had a dyson for going on 2 years now without issue. As Ian can attest to my wife is a neat/clean freak (not quite OCD) and she loves that vacuum.
  18. mr. dunhill, you should track down a version of a program called Snag-It. It comes in very handy for stuff like this.
  19. Markertek has had some annoying stock level of stuff lately. They're out of Pro-Fi's for another week (have been since June) and now they're out of female 3-pin XLRs. Generally I love them, but I hope this isn't the start of a trend.
  20. Seems fricken shady to me. How do you not know which is which if you've been using them or have them in your possession?
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. Only on the special -=*=- version of the pcb. Of course only one of those will ever be made, cause, like there can only be one of something that special cause it was patented at age 19 before it became a NSF scholar pcb at which point it became so awesome sounding that it became the valedictorian of pcbs and went on to pcb university to make post-it art.
