  1. Question: are the plans still cheaper for first gen phones? I'm guessing that there's just one "plan" and that now both first and second gen phones cost more per month.
  2. I wouldn't bother, personally. With the cover on you're safe, you just need to be very careful if you ever have the amp plugged in with the cover off since those terminals are before the switch and "always on".
  3. A lot of heat shrink and multifilament.
  4. I just like giving Jack a hard time, I still haven't made up my mind w/ regards to flats on my woodied HF-1s.
  5. Ti is talking about the connections at the IEC inlet. The ends of the wires are exposed, therefore there is live voltage present there that if you touched and were grounded, would definitely feel. A better way to do it would have been like this (the left-hand side of the photo): I cheesed out on the hot connection and just used shrink, but that was because there simply wasn't enough room to use a connector. Ti is saying that at a minimum all of Mikhails connection should use shrink like that and I agree with him.

  7. Yeah, me too. Probably going to order a set shortly.
  8. Kinda strikes me like winning a stinkiest turd contest. You won, sure, but it's still poop.
  9. Bought a few 7N7s last night.
  10. If you find my impressions for CanJam I stated my preference. Honestly at this point I can't remember, but I think it was the 11. And yeah, before dropping $1000+ on a set of headphones that instantly become worthless to anyone else I'd say you should demo them even if it means waiting. That'd be a painful mistake.
  11. Would you still say that if it was 23 miles each way?
  12. Heh, krrm, my bike has a motor.

    slow forum

There is an element of that picture that screams, "which of these things belongs together? Come on can you tell which one? Can you tell which thing is doing its own thing?" Hint: there are two jabbas...
  14. FAIL
  15. PC, which should have 10x the processing power needed. But it's laggy, locks up and generally runs like complete poo so far.
  16. One more thing: am I the only one finding that iTunes 7.7 runs like complete ass. I swear it's twice as slow as it used to be.
  17. Last night, while the little one was sleeping I spent an hour cleaning and prepping the bike for riding today. I turned two white-t-shirt rags black with dirt, gunk, etc. Today: rode to work for the first time in a damn long time. It was glorious.
  18. Hmm, iTunes tries to force the 2.0 upgrade on you before offering the 1.15.
  19. I generally have to trim all 4 fins when using larger diameter wire. Seems to work fine provided you don't cut it all too short since the strain relief sometimes serves a dual purpose of holding the connector in the right position.
  20. I'm not trying to convince you that my way of thinking is correct, only express my alternate view. Example: unknowning buyer walks into a car dealership and wants to buy a car. Car salesman seizes opportunity and charges more than car is worth. See, I have an issue with that. Taking advantage of someone's ignorance at some level just doesn't sit well with me and strikes me as pretty close to dishonesty. If that doesn't bug you, so be it, just be prepared to reap what you sow.
  21. Dan, maybe you don't think so but I do agree that there is certainly a point of predatory pricing. I'm not sure Mikhail is there (or Ray for that matter) but both seem to like to push the bounds of what would be considered the typical industry markup. I don't begrudge either really, except in the case of Mikhail where service and quality clearly are falling out of line with price. Like or dislike Ray, he bends over backwards for his customers and provides top notch service.
  22. No, he said cost not worth.
  23. Welcome to Kevin's world, where there's no such thing as a compressed image.
  24. large pin = ground Do you not have a stock cable to ohm out? I always have to double check but since I was working on one tonight it's fresh in the memory.
