Just finished the 3rd part, loved it. I hope they do more but I haven't read much to indicate that Joss plans to do so. I'd wager he's pretty busy with Dollhouse.

Like the title says, I need some help ID'ing some 6SN7's that I'd like to list for sale. Basically, I just want to make sure that both parties get a fair deal. I'd rather not find out later that I sold a $50 for $10 or vice versa. I've got 10 that I'd like to list (of the way too many that I've accumulated) since I'm now pretty much exclusively using 7N7s. If you need more information just as, but I figured we'd start with pictures and go from there. And huge thanks in advance. Batch 1: Batch 2: All have been tested on my Jackson which can do everything short of conductance (but it does have a better than average LIFE test). They all test good to very good and come with a plain white box.

If Mikhail is getting any legal advice about this situation I'm sure he won't be posting anything that admits fault. It would be monumentally unwise to do so. Conversations over the phone with people is one thing but I doubt we'll see any official statements until everything has been resolved. And if Mikhail has had the amps ready to ship for 5 months it would have been no problem for him to take the pictures that Elephas requested. -
Windows XP MS outlook problem.

What version of Outlook? Older versions have been known to frequently corrupt their data file and sometimes you can fix this by simply doing as Todd said (remove, reinstall, import old mailbox) or by loading your mailbox onto a different machine and then re-loading it. I know it sounds like a circus, but I've had to do it on several machines in my office. -
Pars, You can't see the pics unless you're a member.
-
Well, if you want a fancy plug I could send you the NC4MX-HD that I have. I just remembered I have one of those and since I'm ordering I can just get another. Not black, but I like them.
-
I actually am ok with Par's black painted finish, it's somewhat texture but otherwise holds up a hell of a lot better than their anodizing. Also, their clear anodized stuff holds up much better than the black anodized finish.
-
If you don't find one shortly let me know, I need to put in an order at Markertek and could throw another one on there for you (I need them too).
-
I'd try to get gilmore or Justin to comment on it before I bought it, but then again if there's no issue on the higher gain settings maybe it really is a non-issue.

I think you're being a bit kind here, Ken. Missing a shipping deadline by a few days or a week is one thing if an explanation is provided (note - not being done is a valid excuse). Telling someone that their amp is done, ready to ship, packed and ready to go, etc. is way more than just bad business and is clearly an intentional deception. I mean he knows the amps aren't done when he says that. As to when the lies become fraud I don't know, but I don't blame some of the participants here from feeling defrauded. Whether or not they have been in the legal sense is probably left up to lawyers to decide. -

I think Tom's problem was actually a bad tube adapter, which sounds odd to me. I'll leave the technical explanation to someone far better suited but based on my limited understanding it sounds like both Tom's ES1 and the other gent's ES2 might be suffering from issues with trying to make that amp work with tubes that it was not originally design for, which causes biasing problems. -

While I don't wish for Singlepower to fail or never recover from this (mostly for the sake of the customers waiting for goods/repairs) I do think that there is a core issue that's sort of been touched on here but not directly addressed. Mikhail has essentially created a market that I don't believe can exist, mass produced completely customizable amps. Speaking first hand as someone that has built a few one-off projects I can attest to the amount of time and effort that goes into building something even from a well established design. From what I see Mikhail/SP were the only ones to even try this, everyone else has a list of models, maybe a few options but essentially easily identifiable configurations and models. If Singlepower goes away (again, I hope it's repairable) there will be a huge void left behind in the tube amp market. -
It's Neotech NES3004 - 8 strands of their purest copper wrapped in a very attractive blue shell. I should be working on a pair of cables soon using some Furutech speaker wire which isn't quite as pretty but is a much more reasonable step up from the basic Canare/Belden type wire in terms of cost. Still waiting on a few parts for those so I'm not sure when I'll get back to them.
-
The wire is $15/ft.
-
Congrats, Jay. Sounds like either way you take it (ME or PhD) is a good thing.
-
Thanks Jacob. It was partly born out of laziness but with the different lengths and the size of the cable it would have been very hard to sleeve the cable well. In other UPOCC news I finished a pair of rather expensive speaker cables this weekend too.

The base site worked (I could get in, read text, etc) but if I went into any of the galleries I couldn't see any of the pictures.

Looks great, Indra! And more importantly works with Firefox so I can actually view the pictures without having to open IE.
-
The Devil's Duet Cable Wire is 24ga UPOCC, connectors are Vampire.

Spent 3+ hrs in 90+ degree high humidity mowing the lawn. Showered, shaved and went to dinner with the wife to celebrate our anniversary. I'm currently praying that lily will have a better night then she did last night, which nearly broke me.

Aaron, Is there a well documented case of the serial number swap happening? To me that crosses over a much darker line between right and wrong. That's theft, plain and simple. It is not Mikhail's right to chose what to do with a product that someone else owns and certainly not his place to send it on to someone else. I'd feel differently if the items in question were merely returns rather than amps sent in for upgrades or repairs. Either way that's seriously shady and just plain awful to think about. Mikhail recently told Asr that he'd built something like 300 ES1s, I'd like to see proof that he's built 10% of that claim knowing how long some around here have been waiting for 1 to simply be upgraded. -
I've certainly had more problems with 64bit Vista (what I run on my laptop at home) compared with both my work and home desktops which run 32bit XP Pro. There's still a decent amount of software that I can't load on my laptop, the first of which is most versions of Autocad.

If they're professional home movers (the types of folks that would jack up a house) then you're probably fine. I'd have to know a lot more about the situation to comment more and neither of us probably has the time for that.
