  1. I actually find over the ear type headphones (like the KSC75) to work much better at the gym than anything that goes in your ear, even if it isn't in the canal part.
  2. You are hereby fined 2 points for comprehension: 1) the activity listed did not occur today. 2) the post better fits the "Last Thing You Bought" theme. Thank you, try again.
  3. One quick thought on vandal-style momentary switches, 16mm is pretty small. I got a few lighted 16mm momentary switches and found that they're just too tiny for my fat fingers and would have quickly become annoying to use.
  4. As I find myself using the Macbook more and more I'd like to find an image management program like ACDSee to use. I don't want or need a full fledged editing program, I want something that allows me to import, resize and post things quickly. Aperture seems like very much the wrong application for this, nothing about that software works intuitively for me. So any suggestions? Iphoto's resize options leave a lot to be desired.
  5. Today I was up and on the road at 6 headed some 100 miles North to volunteer at a friend's fund raiser. The group that he and his wife work for helps disabled people find ways to participate in sports activities. My limited role was to chase them around on the third day of their ride and hopefully take a couple of half-decent photographs. The 3-day even takes them through NH's north country passing through two notches (Franconia and Crawford) and over the Kancamagus Highway. The vertical climb on just this day's ride is some 2300 feet in just over 18 miles, with the the final climb a brutal 6 mile 7% grade. Anyway, it was great fun and I don't think I totally let them down in the photog department. I've got a lot of post to do on these, it was a hugely dynamic day with stuff constantly passing in and out of shadows and clouds and being out of practice shooting dynamic stuff was obvious Mostly I just tried to have the subject properly exposed hoping that I could deal with the environment in post. Anyway, a few samples for the curious. On The Road Early Hannah Hadn't Quite Left Yet Various Participants on the Hill
  6. Is remote control a requirement? And do you have a budget in mind?
  7. I don't think that included shipping Dan, which would probably double the price of that chassis. Still not a bad deal at $70sh (it's $35 iirc) but I don't personally like the idea of shipping a chassis that far.
  8. Another Google Chrome Security Flaw Identified -- Google Chrome -- InformationWeek
  9. I got in my latest shipment of the Furutech 1/4" plugs, there is no play in the ring, however the way that the assembly goes together allows the whole TRS section to rotate just slightly because the notch that fits into an internal keyway in the shell is slightly too small. Otherwise the construction of the entire plug is quite nice and easily the match of any Neutrik I've used.
  10. Damn those be some long-ass standoffs!
  11. Netscape or nothing for me.
  12. Jackpot. And hmmmm, we'll have to see how those look in person. It looks like they wanted to bring them more into line with what their XX series XLRs and 1/4" plugs look like so maybe it'll be ok.
  13. Your link doesn't work for me either JB. And when I check the News section of their site there isn't a matching link there either.
  14. Ahh, I think I see now. Old Pro-Fi New Pro-Fi The handle just looks a little different, no big deal to me, unless it's really dog-pecker pink like that.
  15. I can't find anything on their site about that. Link? (justin's link doesn't work for me btw)
  16. Vampire - they're the only man'f I've found that makes a nice looking female, cable mount RCA. And Justin, were you talking about the ConvertCON?
  17. Well, Engadget got an email tonight, we'll see if they respond.
  18. I'd swear I built you a set of IC's like this more than a year ago... or at sent a set on semi-permanent loan for a while.
  19. Did it once, not going to again.
  20. Mouser just took a chunk out of my wallet. The blood letting continues...
  21. I'd want know the output impedance of the balanced stage before thinking about something like that. Just because you can connect two things doesn't mean it'll be any good.
  22. At least make your lack of enthusiasm funny.
  23. Sure, that'd be nice. But we already know that isn't an option. You know they had to cut all sorts of corners (starting with the power supply) in order to hit a price tag as low as $400 (MSRP).
  24. Yeah, but it could be argued that if you wanted the DAC out of the 840c you should just buy the 840c and get a free transport.
  25. I've got a piece of black tape that can fix that.
