  4. I have nothing for that other than . Either can be made to sound glorious and I'll never pick one or the other simply on the camp it belongs to.
  5. Salty, Time to sell your soul, brother, a guy just listed a BAT VK-20 on Head-Fi for $1200. Retail (w/ remote and phono pre) was just shy of $3000. Heck, maybe he'd meet you halfway and go $1100? FS: BAT GEAR Pre and CDP - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
  6. Blue Jeans is about as close to paying a DIY'er as it gets, therefore if you're happy with the aesthetic you probably can't beat the price.
  7. That might be possible if you were up for say waiting a month or two...
  8. Sorta need to know what load the orthos will present to the amp to know if an M
  9. Hmmm, given your most recent statements I'm having second thoughts. First things first, you could try posting a WTB thread at Head-Fi for an M
  10. Nonsense. http://www.nisbeth.dk/uffe/files/headfi/mcubed-bom.xls That'll get you started on a BOM for the amp. You gotta learn at some point.
  11. Not once they have been modified. I don't think they offer a 4-pin XLR as a stock option.
  12. Can't hurt to try but don't be surprised if it falls on deaf ears. You might also try emailing Alex at A Pure Sound since he's recabled a couple pairs. He might remember what the stock cable is like.

    Where a crinkle fart?
  14. Since this is clearly a microphonics reduction mod it should cost at least as much as the original cable.

    True Blood

I prefer the pre-air friend, the one cast for the show is pretty damn annoying. Sometimes a recast can be a good thing, i.e. the girlfriend on Reaper (which was a huge upgrade in my book).
  18. Regarding the stock cable, you need to find out if it's 3 or 4 conductor. Since the headphones are single-entry it could be either. Unfortunately there's no way of doing that without taking something apart so at a minimum you'll need to open up the headphones and see what's coming in from the cable side of things.
  19. It would be my understand that the answer to that is only yes. All DIY = MOT!
  20. Excellent! You know, you officially qualify as a DIY'er now right?

    Custom IEM's

See if you can find someone that is associated with Westone, they seem to have a pretty big network. The guy I found locally had their brochures in his office which surprised me quite a bit.

    Custom IEM's

Thankfully I found a local Audiologist who did the impressions for $20. I can see how cross-border mods would suck, thankfully that wasn't something I had to worry about. The pre-sale customer service from Livewires has also been excellent with questions answered politely and quickly.
  23. Happy Slackday!
