Working on a new panel... what do you think?
Why only 2.5mm? Is it to accommodate other panel mounted accessories? If so, I'd be nervous about having less than 2mm of thread depth. That might be enough to get two or three threads on a 4-40 screw but I wonder how many turns you'd get with a blind tap? That'd be one of those things I'd want to test before ordering an entire (expensive) panel. It might be easier to provide recessed areas for panel mounted components that can't handle a thicker panel.

PS-1s for sale on the 'Bay
So far everyone is ignoring the obvious point - private sales through ebay are easily not reported as taxable income for either the business or individual or requiring sales tax to be paid. That makes them even more valuable.

AA HPA V. 1.0 Info
But would it be so bad for the on-board regs not to work if you were already feeding it a well regulated, presumably low noise supply?

Component video cable as audio IC?
I know people who swear by it. I think the Blue Jeans LC-1 is essentially coaxial video cable, although I'm not 100% sure about that.

Share your favorite stores and parts here.
FYI - Welborne Labs is having a 2-day, 20% off sale. I recently ordered some stuff from them to see if they'd gotten their act back together. Service was decent, I even got an email response when I asked about shipping status. So maybe they've righted the ship, maybe I got lucky, I'm hopeful.

So what's this about ALO breaking HP jacks?
I think it isn't violative because you technically could use an appropriate dock made by someone else. S2 Audio was making them for a while I think.

The Grado GS1000
walley, A bit of friendly advice: a) no one can tell you want you're going to like the best way to find out if you're going to like something is to actually try it (buy it, find a local meet, arrange to borrow it, whatever) c) acting like an asshat (i.e. your sig) will be met with swift rebuke. We're a friendly bunch with little tolerance for bullshit and know nothing about you other than the impression you choose to make. I, for one, wonder what exactly you're shooting for so far. Oh and welcome to Head-Case.

PS-1s for sale on the 'Bay
I'm pretty sure (ignoring my TV) that that's less than I have tied up in my main HT and headphone rig. Heck, you might be able to include the TV.

Indeed.

The Headcase Stax thread
The problem, at least one I can foresee, is that the Icepower modules are specifically designed to drive low impedance loads and typically trafo primaries have rather large impedances so they might not play nicely together. I sent a message to B&O about this very project and they were evidently unimpressed with my proposal.

How to deal with extreme lowball offers on Craigslist?
That's like quoting the MSRP for a car/truck from the big 3, meaningless.

MacHeads- Impending MacBook Purchase
FYI - Apogee just issued an official statement saying that both the Duet and Ensemble are fully Firewire 800 compatible: They did not mention the complete lack of firewire on the Macbook, no shock there.

ALO M3?
two words: lead bending Expect flopped caps if they're using BGs since nothing I'm aware of would fit the standard footprint.
