I've been advised by counsel to deny everything.
-
In the morning, yes. Frost + heavy leaf cover = very bad things.
-
No kidding, I don't like anything that can generate that much force that doesn't have a on-off switch.
-
Not that I'm aware of. The only other project that I know of that's ready for production is the Sympatico amplifier but since they haven't even sold the few that they had ready at the introductory price I doubt they've pushed ahead with that.

Yes, I remember the discussion well and had it privately with amb long before that thread when I was thinking of using the JT in my first beta22 (I actually purchased and then sold a JT kit, just ask thrice ). As to how much you can violate the 10x rule and how many SS sources have higher than a 200ohm output impedance I can't say. I do trust amb's opinion on the matter, that's for sure, you don't see a JT in any of my gear do you?
-
Indeed. The JT only presents about a 2k load (and a variable one at that) to the source so tube output stages might present problems but most SS gear should work just fine.

No way, it's made of aluminium.

I've spoke with Brian about this, the problem is multi-faceted. One the one hand they're co-developing the simple version of the JT with the full on uber controller version. The current line of thinking is that they'll release the simple version first, but there's no firm ETA on that. On the other hand the demand for Buffalos is huge and as a product that requires a lot of pre-assembly by Brian (baking and testing every DAC) it's easy to understand how that's bogging them down. What they need to do is both outsource the Buffalo board production and raise the price a bit to compensate for that. That way Brian doesn't have to spend every hour of his day building DACs and can do some work on the JT replacement. I wanted to use a JT a while back for a project and when I saw that the replacement was a good 2 months already overdue with no news I moved on. If you're waiting hoping to put one in your beta22 you might just want to consider an alternate attenuator. If you want I can try calling in a favor and seeing what comes of it.

Hammer. I don't think Kevin ever posted pics (that I can find anyway) of the chisel.

Senn HD201 for the cheapest, sound pretty decent too Senn HD280pro / AKG K81 DJ / Equation Audio RP21 for the mid-level I haven't heard anything above that price level.

I don't think she's all too happy about it, hopefully that'll get better with time. Officially today: Weller WES51 Soldering Station and a Fluke 179 DMM to replace recently sold items.

Flowers for the wife - she returned to work today. Technically purchased 3 days ago, but they'll be delivered today.

I kid you not, when I was waiting in line to vote the other morning the woman in front of me was talking with a friend about launching pumpkins with their home made trebuchet. NH Hick Town, FTW!

Hard to argue that point, I'm almost done with Season 2 and can't wait to see how it all gets wrapped up.

Dexter I Love This Show

On that point again we disagree. I think he's been allowed to skate on so much it makes me ill. If you haven't read the anecdotes he likes to add to bills when he signs them into law you should. The degree to which he believes he is above the law and should be able to mold it to suit his ends is insane.

I'm sorry you find the responses sanctimonious but I think it's laughable that the president with the lowest approval rating in history (19%, twice), who's only moment of real approval was immediately-post 911 (when he could have told us all to adopt donkeys and we would have cheered) and who currently enjoys about a 75% disapproval rating would somehow be kindly judged by history. Political views aside the man has presided over one of the worst (if not the worst) periods in US history. Do I think that either of the two people he partially defeated in elections could have done better? Hell if I know but he sucked, period.

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha. Sorry, we differ on this topic, I think if anything history will be less kind to G-dub than the present has been. I could site examples and I'm sure you'd site counter examples and we could banter about for another 200 posts or so on that topic but really, neither of us will play a role in that ultimate decision. All I know is that from where I sit it looks a lot worse than it did 8 years ago and I think the rest of the world (at least according to the polls) agrees with me.

Only if the stands go on sale too!

The acting and group cohesion has certainly gotten better. It's not a perfect show by any means but few are early on.

I love individual statements, taken completely out of their context as a whole, stitched together on You Tube and then presented as a unified argument. Did Obama make conflicting statements during his campaign and life, of course, who doesn't? Which one of you can say that every opinion you've formed during your years has stayed exactly the same, without fail? And that you've never done something wrong, learned a lesson from it and been made the better for it? I really wish that we'd stop holding politicians to an unreasonable standard, they're just people and as such prone to making mistakes. Once and a while it'd be refreshing to hear one of them allowed to admit a mistake, explain what happened and what they'd do in the future when presented with similar circumstances. Instead, the minute one of them contradicts or hints that they may have altered their stance we call it flip-flopping or some other catchy phrase and go nuts. We, the people, are a bunch of morons.

Yup, I'm kind of a fan of a flat tax, 0 deductions kind of policy. If for no other reason that paying taxes to enforce paying taxes (the IRS) doesn't sit well with me. In 2005, the last fiscal year available, it cost the IRS approximately 10 billion dollars to collect our taxes. I'd like to think that that money could be put to a lot better use and that a simplified tax code could go a long way to reducing that number. Of course a substantial reduction of the IRS will probably never happen but I hope to live to see it.
