  1. Oh shoot, how could I have overlooked the agile approval process™ that is required for all high-end gear entering Florida?
  2. It's not, and they aren't worried. I don't think you'll see the new max for a year or so.
  3. Yes, and the fact that they're developing a new flagship line that is not based on modules of any kind. My NDA keeps me from saying more.
  4. But of course. I'll get a better night time shot at some point but that gives you an idea. It's pretty sweet looking when the ring lights up.
  5. I think Asr had one for a brief stint but I can't keep up with his source search anymore.
  6. I can't believe we haven't had any yet, mostly because I don't have the snow blower mounted on the tractor yet.
  7. Good times, I think all 3 of us are off meds right now. Must be time for a new wave of illness.
  8. FYI - I finally got a chance to try my old-school SiK-din with the Touch, works fine. Can't believe that I didn't try it before...
  9. At least the cartoon got it right, I don't know shit.
  10. Wait, whose people are talking to whom? Where am I sending this thing? What's that? I get to keep it? Cool, even with the busted speaker output it rocks.
  11. Oh I know, I just thought that if the left coast lawyer was getting involved I could pull the old double bill trick like you guys like to do.
  12. Is there to be an exchange of monies? If so, I want in!
  13. The next one I build will be 230V capable. No timeline on when it'll be done or what the heck I'm going to do with it. I'm my own worst enemy... Just so we're clear, the amp is still going to Mike. Vicki and I just decided to have a little fun with him.
  14. If we hope to have gifts in the hand's of recipients prior to 12/25 we'd better wrap this up pretty soon. Maybe leave it open till the end of the week?
  15. Oh nos, the cat is out of the bag!

Disappointment sure, but to say that they're lame for not honoring the order is kind of pushing the envelope since I haven't met another company that equals the service and support HR does.
  17. Nope, no load resistor required. It behaved pretty weirdly until I got it attached to the sigma22 but once it had that load it was happy and so far has worked without a hitch. It's a pretty elaborate way of doing things but once completed is really sweet. Next time I'll have a go at the thermal shut down feature. And Al, yes I'm really serious. The entire amp was designed to be able to be deconstructed with a minimum of fuss so it won't really be that much work but I'm sick of things falling apart when I ship them so I'm going to go a bit berserk on this one. Some components already use other means of holding them permanently (lock washers, lock nuts etc) so that eliminates a few things too. Also, I'm going to have to do one serious tweak to the R channel which refuses to zero out the dc offset despite using what were supposed to be fully matched components.
  18. Thanks ryan, speaker output debacle aside I'm pretty pleased with how it all came together. I think it represents a culmination of a lot of what I've learned building other projects. And of course, in truth, the entire thing will be getting diassembled and reassembled prior to shipping so that each and every connector can get a dose of loctite. I'm not looking forward to that.
  19. Well, I had to let it go since mike didn't want it once I couldn't figure out why the speaker output didn't work.

Do you expect them to restock so they can once again sell them at a loss? Get over it.

I'd guess they were inundated with web and possibly phone orders so there were bound to be some extras that got placed but couldn't be filled.

Wow, just wow. That "end of the world" video is pure win.
  23. Happy Birthday to one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
  24. That'd be a pretty un-fun venture if you ask me. Nothing like founding a company that exists for the express purpose of dealing with another company's unsatisfied/pissed-off customers. The other issue would be that a lot of these repairs should be covered under warranty which no third party would be able to offer. cj, you should look into the warranty status of your amp. May be that the repairs won't cost you anything more than shipping?
