  1. 2 older Tektronix units, don't have model numbers yet but one is a 100mHz version and one is a 200mHz version. Both working and tested against calibrated units, although not calibrated themselves. I'll post up a few pictures when I get them home.
  2. I appear to have secured an oscilloscope that I will be picking up Saturday morning from a friend. He has 5 and agreed to sell me at least one, maybe two to help him clear some space in his workshop.

I'd look for a packing store, they're often cheaper than you think and can come in very handy if UPS/FedEx/USPS decides to drop kick your package during delivery. Having someone who gives them thousands of dollars a year in business helps in getting claims settled.

  5. Are you fracken kidding me? Those heatsinks are teh sechs.
  6. Remember that it isn't just about impedance, leaving sensitivity out of the equation is unwise.

  8. A) How did I miss this earlier?!?! Holy shit Justin, that looks outstanding. Where is Dusty with a black comment? I'm guessing he passed out in ecstasy after seeing the pictures.
  9. Once again it's a good thing I can't give titles.
  10. CAD services available, if necessary.
  11. GTFO - Dom is the same age as me??!?! (actually older) Happy birthday!!
  12. I believe that sentence illustrates my point perfectly.
  13. The problem there being that you'll pay almost as much for a set of vintage RS-1s. Incredibly, I know, but they've been selling for ~$1000 or more.
  14. More like, he was going to argue and then decided that it's not worth his time. Some days there's a little too much universal agreement between folks who haven't heard the headphones in question. I don't doubt spritzer feels the way he does about them but he's also been known to take a pretty hard line about things like this. I mean doesn't he hate the O2 MKII as well?
  15. Sorry, I can't. It's been too long and my time with both setups was too short. About all I can say definitely is that I preferred both setups described above to the ESP-950 w/ it's stock energizer.
  16. The only time I heard them I did not like them.

Lost is the last show I'd call consistent. Great first season, terrible second and it's been pretty hit or miss for me ever since. I'll give it a chance this year but it's on short leash.
  19. Colin, Best to wait for confirmation from one of the Stax heavies but I was once told that you can do no harm plugging a Pro plug into a Standard jack. You'll underbias the cans but otherwise the pinouts are the same.

Before the head transplant I believe that he was correct.
  21. Heh, I had two pairs at one point. It wasn't for lack of liking that had me selling them, just a lack of time to listen to one headphone rig.
  22. I'm not sure I'm quite as enthusiastic as Colin regarding the ESP-950s. While when properly amped (I heard them out of the BHSE and SRD7) I would say I liked them at least as much as the HD-650s I thought they were pretty mediocre out of the stock energizer.
  23. Misstep #1. Careful...
  24. I'm guessing that someone just got stuck with them who did not expect to get stuck with them.
