  1. Yeah, but based on their specs they shouldn't be that hard to drive (98dB/mW, 50ohm). Right now I'd swear the right channel is fading in and out periodically so it could be that I've just got a wonky pair.
  2. Well the T50RPs are in the house. Sonofabitch these things are hard to drive. The poor little Starving Student seems to be struggling. Sound so far is pretty stuffy and congested, I'll let them run this afternoon and hope things improve. Tonight I'll subject them to some abuse at the hands of the Menace and see what's what.
  3. I doubt it. It's painfully clear that no one can give you the answer you're looking for, i.e. information about the HD800. I'm guessing maybe 100 people have heard those headphones now and the likelihood that one of them a) reads this forum, listens to whatever Japanese music you like and c) gives a shit is pretty much null. Oh I'm sorry, are you the one that derailed an entire thread this morning?
  4. Are you trying to piss people off now? If so, it's working.
  5. Agreed, it's one of less than a handful of CD's I've listened to once and tossed.
  6. Because for every other genre most of us don't find them lacking in any way, shape or form. Are any of them perfect, no, but the silver SR325 and W5000 are the only headphones I've heard that I'd qualify as Fail.
  7. Do you have any experience with IEMs in general?
  8. I would expect nothing less out of dyno-jesus.
  9. I split this out of the HD800 thread. I'd apologize for potentially getting some of it out of order but, well, I just don't care enough to check.
  10. Last thought for this thread (start a new one if you want to continue this line of banter) - if it's that hard to enjoy the music and that hard to differentiate the various sounds I'm going to go ahead and blame the music, not the equipment.
  11. If you really feel that way about all those headphones I'd say there's either something Fail about the music or the rest of your setup. Or you're so picky in your search for the holy grail that you'll never be happy.
  12. Jan 8, 2009 8:19 PM Delivery exception LONDONDERRY, NH Local weather delay, delivery not attempted Weather delay? What, did the sunshine blind him? Was it the 15 minutes of snow? Asshats, the lot of them.
  13. Esthero - Wikked Lil' Grrrls
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Evidently they are consistently shitty today.
  16. Did they show up? They failed to deliver my package that was "on fedex vehicle for delivery" at 4:30am.
  17. I trust Jude's info a bit more. Finally found the post he made last night:
  18. I doubt it, they only need/want two connections at each cup and the third pin there just adds bulk and confusion.
  19. Is the HD in AppleTV user replaceable?
  20. Can you run apple TV as a stand alone device? I thought it had to be connected to something even if you were storing everything on it locally?
  21. Appears they are aware of it now. 2009-01-08 1121 PST: Forums down temporarily for maintenance. Moderators and admins, please do not attempt to post, edit, or alter any settings during this period. Thank you for your patience, everyone. Approximate downtime = 5 minutes. You may experience intermittent slowness when the forum comes back up--this may last for 10 to 20 minutes after the forums come back up.
  22. I would at least suggest that if you're thinking about doing such things and if you're going to post about it, chose a non-public forum.
