More like, he was going to argue and then decided that it's not worth his time. Some days there's a little too much universal agreement between folks who haven't heard the headphones in question. I don't doubt spritzer feels the way he does about them but he's also been known to take a pretty hard line about things like this. I mean doesn't he hate the O2 MKII as well?
Sorry, I can't. It's been too long and my time with both setups was too short. About all I can say definitely is that I preferred both setups described above to the ESP-950 w/ it's stock energizer.
Lost is the last show I'd call consistent. Great first season, terrible second and it's been pretty hit or miss for me ever since. I'll give it a chance this year but it's on short leash.
Colin,
Best to wait for confirmation from one of the Stax heavies but I was once told that you can do no harm plugging a Pro plug into a Standard jack. You'll underbias the cans but otherwise the pinouts are the same.
I'm not sure I'm quite as enthusiastic as Colin regarding the ESP-950s. While when properly amped (I heard them out of the BHSE and SRD7) I would say I liked them at least as much as the HD-650s I thought they were pretty mediocre out of the stock energizer.
I'm sure he does, so do I and I have 1/10th the crap to ship he does. If I drop a package off to be packed 99% of the time it's sent the same day. If it isn't going to ship that day they let me know at time of drop off, not 7 days later.
There is simply no way that we have the piss pour signal to noise ratio that HF maintains. Not that a "Teach me how to grind" thread wouldn't be fun around here...
It's for Justin's soon-to-be patented reverse cryo process where he heats and steams audio parts to get a warmer, fuller sound.
Me: HD600s, time to see if I really do prefer the HD650s.
