Given the magnitude of what we're talking about here I think that there is going to have to be one, central money collector who can distribute funds to the individual buyers prior to purchase. It wouldn't surprise me if we order $1000 or more of just transformers, the potted and shielded units are probably going to run $75 each or so.
It's virtually guaranteed that you'll have a higher noise floor with the PS in the same chassis. If pushed I'd recommend a remote trafo triggered by one of amb's e24 boards but again I think heat is going to take careful consideration especially for 4-ch folks.
I'm not sure I've ever had that much just laying around. But if you guys want some exotic wire for this project I'll work my contacts and discounts and see how cheaply it can be had.
Officially setup and tested the Nugget Audio Amplification Benchmark facility. In other words, tested the new M-Audio DAC and dummy load running the RMAA software suite. I'm sure I have a few things to tweak properly but it looks reasonably correct running the standard loop-back baseline.
Now if they just had sets with matching bits I might actually order some. I hate having to buy tap, wrench, bit, etc. for each friggen piece. A google turned up squat for sets but I don't have much time.
It would be best to consider that version along with the Par Metals chassis I think. The casework of external heat sinks could be a nightmare for a novice.
