Steve, We need to do something about those screws you used no the XLR. I have some #4 screws that should work, I'll send a few your way (with any other options I have) to use on this and other projects.

I've got an old massive one now but for my shop and my projects a smaller lathe would be infinitely better.

I'd also like to take a minute and thank both Nelson Pass and Jon Ver Halen (Lowther America) who have been exceptionally generous with their time in helping me with the Cicada issue. Without their help I'd have no options right now. Not that it was ever in doubt but they are both class acts.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Stretch, I see what you did right there. Greg, I find the key to a uniform braid is as simple as having a solid anchor point. That lets you have a consistent tension on the wires and keep the same relative angle as you progress.

Nope, I just have it on a simple pedestal stand. It's pretty stationary in my shop so the wheeled stand would actually just be in the way. If all goes well I may be picking up a new/used lathe today.

I'd argue that most don't need a $1200 (used?) table saw. My Bosch is more than enough for me and only runs half that new.

My drill press is out on loan so the counter sinks are not done very well and the boards were slightly damaged so I'll probably replace them at some point. The clamping mechanism that holds them in place could be better implemented as well. I just wanted something to finish it off for now. Mmmmm indeed, even with a mediocre finishing job they look pretty tasty.

It'd be a safe bet that I had the HA-2 in mind.
